En nuestra segunda oportunidad como workawayers tuvimos la fortuna de encontrarnos con esta hermosa familia de 4, compuesta por Andrea y Nick, y sus pequeños, Nayan y Yanis.
Conectamos desde el primer momento, lo que hizo que nos sintieramos como en casa.
Nos dieron un lugarcito precioso en su casa, todos los días cocinaban algo rico y
… read more compartíamos largas charlas.
También nos llevaron a conocer su casita en la montaña, donde Nick se lució con un SUPER ASADO, una experiencia maravillosa en un lugar soñado.
En cuanto al trabajo, no sentimos que nada de lo que hiciéramos fuera demasiado, solo realizamos algo de jardineria y ayudamos con los niños ( aunque no creo que cuente como trabajo jaja). Nayan y Yanis son niños muy buenos, especiales, cariñosos, curiosos por la vida y creo que tiene todo que ver con su crianza.
Ver a Andrea y Nick, maternar y paternar a la par, enseñando a sus hijos desde el amor, el respeto y dedicando tiempo de calidad (algo que es difícil de ver tiempos actuales), es algo hermoso.
La casa esta ubicada en un barrio de la ciudad de Lugano, está muy bien conectada con el transporte público. De todas maneras , Andrea y Nick, nos prestaban sus bicis eléctricas, que estan buenísimas, para ir y venir, hacer paseos, ir al río, porque es súper cómodo y en pocos minutos estás en el centro.
Tampoco faltaron las recomendaciones de lugares a visitar, películas para ver, etc realmente salimos culturalmente enriquecidos de este intercambio, aprendimos muchisimo.
Estuvimos solo 15 días, pero fueron suficientes para formar una amistad que estamos seguros que perdurará en el tiempo.
Esperemos verlos pronto, sea en nuestra Argentina amada o de este lado del charco! Gracias por tanto!

They are 2 great people, with whom I felt comfortable. Yanis and Nayan are 2 adorable boys with whom I enjoyed spending time.

To put it in a nutshell, my 5 weeks spent in Switzerland with this family were idyllic.

Corentin stayed with us for 5 weeks. It was a difficult time when he arrived—everyone at home was sick after a challenging move. Corentin is a young man with a sweet, introspective, and quiet personality. His main task at home was to entertain the children, and in this, he was the perfect "big brother"—patient and respectful. Despite the language
… read more barrier, he never had any trouble communicating with the little ones. I recommend him without any hesitation for childcare.
Household chores are not his strong suit, and he doesn't particularly enjoy gardening, but if needed, he will do them without complaint.
Corentin is not a big talker. At first, it was a bit challenging to deal with his silence—we are used to having curious volunteers who are eager to talk, ask questions, learn languages and share experiences. That wasn’t the case this time, but it was okay; in the end, we got used to it and learned to share his silence.
Thank you, Corentin, for your help. Thank you for giving us a hand during this difficult period. From our heart we wish you a life full of learning and growth.
Luis fue nuestro salvador a la hora de mudarnos, sin el hubiera sido imposible hacer todo lo que hicimos en un día! Nos faltó tiempo pero no importa, dio todo lo mejor. Luis tiene una gran paciencia, es muy calmado y muy fuerte a la misma vez. Fue un gran placer conocerlo, espero que vuelva a visitarnos en momentos más calmados.
Me supo a poco los días que estuve, porque me hubiese gustado poder estár más tiempo con está bonita familia. Nicoló, chef artista y más; Andrea muy atenta, amable y dispuesta a decirme e indicarme puntos lindos de la ciudad. Estuve ayudando a cortar leña, organizar un poco el estudio de Nicoló y con el traslado a su nuevo hogar. Espero verlos

Best experience ever! Andrea and Nicolo made us feel at home immediately! We were welcomed with an amazing lunch, honestly, all the meals were incredible, we felt like in a five star restaurant!

Tatiana y Tessa fueron de nuestras mejores voluntarias! Tatiana es una mujer seria, amorosa con los niños, siempre con buena voluntad para hacer las tareas de la casa y super proactiva.
Su hija Tessa es muy tranquila y dulce, no hubo ningún inconveniente durante la estadía. Las extrañamos y esperamos encontrarlas pronto nuevamente.

My time in Lugano was really great. From day one, the family made me feel at home, like I was part of their family.

My main job was looking after Nayan, a really nice kid who I connected with right away. He is smart, curious, and really sweet, which made every moment we spent together really special.

For us, the parents, the experience was a bit weird, I confess we had different expectations: we were also volunteers in the past and we were much more interested in getting to know the culture and the people of the place we were in. The girls didn't show real interest in us as individuals and didn't really explore the sorroundings apart from the city center a couple of times. Somehow it felt more like a B&B service experience... Anyhow, it was ok, we're satisfied and I can recommend to host Maria & Miriam.Welcome in our happy little community surrounded by nature nearby Lenzburg, Switzerland
