    Descrição

※We are currently looking for someone who can work from mid-October to early November 2025.

We are looking for people who can work as rowers on a traditional boat on an island in the Sea of Japan, stay at a guesthouse, and help out at the front desk.

It may not meet your expectations, but you can't expect to earn a lot here
    I'll be honest about that.

I think it is suitable for people who value experience and free time.

Have you ever heard of Sado Island in the Sea of Japan?

Sado Island, a large island floating in the Sea of Japan, is a wonderful island with rich nature, traditional culture, and many festivals. It has a laid-back country atmosphere.

Although it doesn't have the bustle of Shibuya or Kyoto, it's perfect for those who want to experience the simple Japanese countryside at a leisurely pace.

I was born in Tokyo, but I moved here because I love this island.
Currently, the old inn has been renovated into a guest house, and the hotel aims to interact with domestic and international travelers.

There are two things I want you to do when you come.
One is to help at the guesthouse. I would like to mainly check in in the evening 2 to 4 days a week, and occasionally help with chores.

The second job is as a rower on a boat called a ``taraibune.''
My job is to take tourists on short sightseeing cruises.
Cruises are about 15 to 30 minutes.
Depending on the weather, this will be about 2-3 days a week.
There is a training period for the work of the tub boat.
The time required depends on your level of proficiency, but it takes about 3 to 7 days.

Also, it would be a great help if you could prepare for the early morning tub boat. Work generates wages from the beginning.

For both jobs, we will consult with you and adjust the schedule. We won't force you to do anything.

We would be happy if we could help you live a relaxed life on Sado Island.

We provide free accommodation to our helpers and pay them at least the minimum wage in Japan.
This is done for all Workawayers invited to the host location on each work day.

☆To make your stay easier to imagine
    Let me explain an example.

    1. The guesthouse reception opening hours are 17:00-20:00 on about three days a week(opening hours may be extended in case of late arrival). This is a paid job.

Traditional TUB boat operates from 8:30 to 12:00 on about three days a week
(assuming you still want it) This is a job that pays a wage.

In addition, please turn off the lights in the guesthouse, lock the doors, etc. This is a daily chore.

2.No meals will be provided. Cook your own meals or buy meals from nearby restaurants or supermarkets.

    3. Wi-Fi is available in your room. free

    4. Bus stops and ferries to the mainland are nearby. Bicycles can also be rented.
    5. You can obtain your own sightseeing leave by prior application.
    6. Animals are prohibited. Also, smoking is prohibited indoors.

(If necessary, we will also check that you have the correct visa or work permit.)

By the way, how about Japanese?

Of course, it's a difficult language, so you'll be accepted even if you can't speak it.

If you can speak even a little, I think you'll enjoy yourself.

As an immigrant from Tokyo and a college student majoring in folklore, I am familiar with Sado Island's culture and festivals, so I have a lot to share with you.

In addition, my wife and I are also performers of the traditional Japanese instrument, ``wadaiko'' (Japanese drums). If you wish, you will have the opportunity to directly experience traditional performing arts.

There are very few Japanese people who can row a tub boat these days. That technology is also very valuable. Also, the teacher you will be learning how to row from is one of the few craftsmen on Sado Island who can make boats.

During your stay, I would like you to take a vacation and visit various places on Sado Island. Please come to love Sado Island.

I speak Japanese and a little English

When helping at a guest house, I ask students to memorize simple phrases for speaking to Japanese guests.
Please rest assured that detailed building rules are provided in the manual.

When working on a tub boat, the first step is training how to row. Please enjoy it. The Tub Boat workplace is about 10 minutes by car from the guesthouse, and the staff will pick you up.

Both jobs generate wages. Please note that no meals will be provided during your stay.
