Description
I am running a large farm (about 97 acres) near to Izmir with my parents. I am the 3rd generation of the family, so the farm is older than 50 years and it is 10 km away from Urla city center. We have 800 tangeren trees, 2000 olive trees and about 50 acres to grow vegetables, artichoke, grape, blackberry, strawberry and oregano. Besides these we also produce wheat and chickpea. We have our own vegetable garden and eat as much as possible from own ground. It is a modern farm, technically well equipped and automatically irrigated. We sometimes have daily workers to help us but we also need some extra support. Since my parents are retired, they are traveling often. We speak English and Italian. We live in the house which is inside the farm. We have 5 cats and 11 dogs. We are very hard-working yet fun-loving people.
We are looking for hardworking Workawayers who don't mind getting their hands and clothes dirty and will respect the rules on the farm.

There is also a job position which we offer payment, accommodation and food. We are searching of a female, non smoker helper for various works such as:
Cleaning the farm house (the one we are living together) and the guest house;
*Vaccuum and mop floors
* Cleaning the windows (twice a month)
*Take out trash
*Clean kitchen surfaces daily
*Ironing
*Refresh bedding
* Washing the dishes
we need help for June and July 2024 (Please only write, if you can come for the entire two months.)
and for August and September 2024 (Please only write, if you can come for the entire two months.)
You will work approx. 25-30 h per week. 2 days at a week will be free! We will plan the work and your free days every week together. On your free days you can do what you want.
No smoking is allowed. You will stay in our home, like the other volunteers. We will gladly have meals together and you can use the wifi too. Good manners, mindfulness and honesty are essential.
Before appliying please note that you can stay in Türkiye only 3 months.

By visiting our farm you can learn about farming, have experience about Turkish cuisine and producing products such as vinegars, olive oil, jam, pickled vegetables and wine. (in different seasons)

During winter we generally start work at 9:00 a.m. but during the summer we start at 6:00 a.m. to escape from the hot weather. (during the harvest season it depends on the weather) No experience is necessary as training is given on the job. Much of the help we need is outdoors, so be sure to pack accordingly, at very least you will need a good pair of boots or wellies, a sun-hat, sun cream, vacuum bottle and clothes that you don't mind getting dirty.

Please contact us only if you are certain about your intention to come to our farm/ to Izmir. Once your coming dates are confirmed, it is difficult for us to make rearrangements, to reach out to other volunteers in such a short notice and keep the good work in our farm. Please note that it also puts us in an unpleasant situation with other volunteers that we had to reject to keep your spot.
We would like to remind you that it is important for us that you respect our calendar. So we kindly request you not to leave the farm before the date that we agreed on.
Please remember that we make all arrangements based on your words. You keeping your promise will help us to keep ours.
We do not accept volunteers less than a week.
If you don't responde to our messages in three days, we will move on to accept others' applications.
Please do not ask for a video call, with the time difference and the farm’s schedule it is so hard to make an appointment. If the profile explanation and the feedbacks is not helping you, please do not hesitate to ask more.
Don’t forget to inform us about your meal preferences and allergies when you contact us. We share our own food with our guests and do not make any special purchases.
When you are not working, you are free to spend your time as you please.
We do love animals, but we can't take any helpers with animals.
We do not take on smokers!

We give a comportable accomodation, three large rooms... In each room can accomadate 2 people comfortably and also there are bathrooms. We have wifi so you can keep in touch with your friends and family. We eat meals together. The person should also take care of his place and clean the room before leaving.
Volunteers can wash their clothes in washing maschine only ones a week
We do not accept volunteers less than a week.
How to come to our place: We can pick you up from main bus station in Urla between the hours 8:00a.m. and 6:30p.m. If you are coming to the farm by yourself, please be here before 20:00 p.m.

Yuri has lots of stories to tell and he is very funny person. He made nice dialogues with other volunteers and people around. He helped us in the field and he did hard works easly. He took care of our animals and also he helped in the kitchen every day... We are very grateful to him for the help...

It was a great 3 weeks on the farm, with Emine and her parents. Emine is a kind and open person who is always ready to help and show what life on a farm is.

I spent a great three weeks on Emine's farm. It's a beautiful place full of cats and dogs, so purrfect for animal lovers. Emine is a very nice person, super hospitable and she has a huge heart for animals. The work was fair and the food was amazing every single day. Big thanks to Emine, her parents and tovarish Joeri! I've spent 3 weeks at Hanimin Ciftlik; the lovely Emine and her parents are a joy to be around. They treat you as guest and not just a volunteer. Elena and Yann is a couple very friendly, easy going and joyfull. They are very respectful, responsible, clean and hard working people.

We hosted Karen-Marie for 12 days in October and it was a great experience. She is a very cheerful and communicative girl!
She worked hard for the olive harvest, she took care of our animals. She helped us cook and tidy up the kitchen, while she told us many interesting facts about her country and her trip.

Federica & Baris are wonderful young people. Both of them are nice, caring, respectful, quick learner. Their two week stay here was just wonderful for us. They helped a lot to daily works of farm and they harvested olives with the team.
