Welcome to my village at the foot of Ngong hills,Am a Kenyan lady who comes from an indegenous community called the Masai,we are rich in culture.i work along with women from my local community in the Rift valley at the slopes of Ngong hills, kimuka village to make handcrafted beaded products, ranging from jewelry, accessories, home decor among many others..I also do workshops in my local community Schools on sanitary hygiene, advocate against female Genital mutilation, empowering women groups , and sensitization of importance of Education..I am coming up with a project for cultural exchange programs that is my most priority now.There is more to experience in my community,the lifestyle here , from fetching water, fetching firewood and the African dishes . You will also have the experience to live in our corrugated houses as well the Masai community traditional houses..

You will get a chance to learn Language spoken in the community (Masai,Swahili), you will learn to prepare local food, learn About dances and songs for different events or ceremonies,you can also learn about origin of the Masai community,the beautiful dress code of the community,role of each family members, tearing of ears, you will get a chance to learn about the skills of the Masai warrior (spear , arrows and bows), medicinal plants or herbs in the locality.and also go on a nature trail with a guard plus many more activities.

I would like help in building the cultural center, i.e masonrys , collecting stone materials. Digital marketers for our handcrafted products. I am also looking for individuals who can help in renovation, painting, wood carving and keeping home clean(tending to flowers)and help in the garden/farm,planting and weeding vegetables

I am happy to learn the different languages and in return I can teach Maa which is my mother tongue and Swahili as my national languageHébergement
We have two options for accomodations, we have a room to accommodate one workawayer at the hosts home ,and second option for more than one workwayer,we host you at my parents home where most of our farm activities are.Both venues are very clean,secure and comfortable,the food offered is Kenyan dishes.
3 meals per day is available,Volunteers will be provided with a flexible work pattern to enable them to do other things like reading books and make visit to other places.
No special diets.We welcome people who will really engage and tune in with what we are doing here,rather than be here on a 'casual holiday,or using us as a cheap way of living while working on your own business online giving priority to that instead of what we do here.If you are delicate this is not a place for you,we are in the country,far rural.Autres infos...
There is alot you can do while visiting us,places to visit from visiting the Kenyan coast(Mombasa),Masai mara,Giraffe center, Elephant Orphanage,lake Nakuru,lake naivasha...For local transport you can use motorcycles or shared public transport (matatu)
Although we are Abit remote,a 10 min motorbike ride can get you to the nearest village town to collect essentials and a matatu will get you to Ngong town Approximately 25 mins for banking, hospital, restaurant and supermarket.Informations complémentaires

She cooked natural food from the farm. She communicated when she needed help. Which made me be able to relax when she didn't and do what i saw was needed when i felt.
