We spent 3 weeks with Ann and Fergus and had a really good time with them! We got to sleep in our own house which was a Trulli, typical for that region. We did a lot of work in the garden, from picking olives, moving the compost, moving wood piles/stones and renewing a walkway to digging our stone walls and building a veggie bed. We felt welcome
… read more from the start and were amazed by their garden and house, it’s so lovely and you can see how much effort and time they already dedicated into creating their home. We had such good lunches and dinners together and often Ann cooked for us and sometimes we also cooked dinner, the food was always vegetarian since we both don’t eat meat and was always so delicious! Their animals were close to our heart from the start and we petted them every occasion we got. We went to the market together and also ate out which was really nice. Since we got our own car we also could go to the close by cities easily. The work days were scheduled fairly and we even got the chance to go to Napoli during our stay there which was amazing! Paulina and Rafael spent three weeks with us in November 2024. They communicated very well beforehand and arrived on schedule. We had lots of jobs for them to do, digging out

It was meant to be, last minute, unplanned yet successful and fulfilling to us. One must also mention Raffa and Olimpia, the dogs who played a very big (!) part of our welcome and stay. The cats are an added bonus!

They were very easy to talk to and we had many wonderful conversations both while they worked with us and over meals.
They were very willing helpers and took on a multitude of tasks (stacking wood, shredding, uncovering and restoring terrace walls, moving rocks,

They are also great cooks so we enjoyed some wonderful meals together courtesy of their culinary skills.
We are now good friends and hope to see them back in Puglia in the near future.
We would recommend them highly for any tasks you need help with. They will tackle anything.

Ann & Fergus are a lovely couple, who welcomed me as their first Workawayer with open arms. In typical Aussie fashion they were friendly and frank, and I immediately felt comfortable around them. Living with them was quite easy, and we shared every meal (Ann is a great cook, making wonderful vegetarian dishes). The work and exploration was a 50/50
… read more split, and they included me on some of their cultural outings, like going to a local yoga class, Sunday antique market, and nearby town restaurant. The experience was enhanced by their two massive Italian shepard dogs, multiple cats, and free range duck named Luigi. Thanks Ann & Fergus!
