Hey! I’m Valentin, I’m 18, and I’ve just finished my A-levels at an international boarding school in the UK. Living closely alongside people from more than 25 nationalities has made me very curious about different cultures, perspectives, and ways of life.

I love new adventures and want to see the world. Through travelling, I hope to learn lots of new things and, most importantly, get to know more people from all over the world. I have a very positive attitude towards life, and even if things get difficult, I don’t easily lose my smile. I love being active, and I am happiest when lots of people are around.

I have a broad range of interests, ranging from science to the arts, including graphic design, photography, and fine art. Music is especially important to me. It is a source of resilience for me and a way for me to process things that move me deeply. I’ve been playing classical piano since I was five, and over the years I’ve performed in public concerts, played keys in bands, and been part of theatre projects. Collaborating and playing with others requires sensitivity and deep attention, but when everything comes together as a cohesive whole, it creates something truly magical.

Through my artistic interests, I have developed a strong eye for detail and a thoughtful approach to the things I create. I enjoy taking on new challenges and tend to approach them with a positive, ‘can-do’ attitude. When something matters to me, I can become deeply absorbed in it and am happy to put in the time and effort needed to achieve what I set out to do.

Through experience, I’ve learnt not to take good health for granted, so I try to eat well, spend time in nature, and get enough sleep. And, of course, sport must not be missing! My favourites include volleyball, football, hiking, and swimming. I love being outdoors and exploring nature.

Ultimately, I want to get to know you on a deeper level, learn new things, and give something back through my work and my presence. :)

Quais são suas habilidades?

- Household: At school, students shared responsibility for cleaning the buildings, washing up and keeping communal spaces organised, so I’m used to contributing to everyday household work.

- Kitchen: I’ve helped in the school kitchen when extra help was needed and am comfortable following instructions and helping with tasks such as preparing ingredients, cutting vegetables and washing up. I’m not an experienced cook, but I’m happy to learn and help where needed.

- Garden & outdoors: Gardening was a weekly class at school, where I gained experience with practical outdoor work and maintenance. I have also worked on a nearby farm outside Berlin, giving me experience with physical work in an agricultural setting.

- Creative work: I have experience with photography, painting, drawing, printmaking and graphic design. I achieved an A* in Fine Art A-Level, completed a one-year photography course and a two-year graphic design course, giving me basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud.

- Music: I’ve played classical piano since I was five, performed in public concerts, played piano both solo and alongside singers in a care home, played the keys in bands and performed chamber music with piano and viola. I’m proficient with the Nord Electro 6.

- Performance & events: I’ve taken part in theatre productions, concerts and school events, including organising music for productions and giving tours of the school.

- Working with people: Through music, theatre and everyday life at an international boarding school, I’ve learnt to collaborate with different people, communicate clearly and bring different ideas together.

- Languages: Fluent German and English; basic French.

- Sport & outdoors: Football, volleyball, swimming, hiking, windsurfing and running. I also have basic experience coaching mobility and strength training.

“Last year, someone said: ‘I’m going to miss the people I wasn’t super close to more than the ones I’ll see every holiday.’ And now I think I understand that better. I really appreciate your presence, and you genuinely bring something to every room you enter. You have such a calm and open way about you that has always made me feel safe. And although you’re somehow good at everything, you never put yourself above others. ...”
