Hi, I’m Paden

I’m 21 from the U.S., taking some time after graduating early from university to step out of the usual path and into experiences that feel more grounded, human, and real. I’m happiest when I’m outdoors, working with my hands, moving my body, and learning by doing rather than watching from the sidelines.

I’m drawn to places where life is simple and intentional. Farms, land projects, hostels, community spaces, restoration efforts, and homes that are being built or cared for slowly over time. I enjoy physical work, shared routines, and the kind of days that revolve around the land, the weather, and the people around you rather than a clock.

I’ve done a lot of backpacking and hands-on work, and I’m comfortable with simple living, shared spaces, and getting dirty. I’m not afraid of hard work, but I also really value the quieter parts of these experiences, cooking together, sharing stories, learning local ways of life, and feeling part of something bigger than myself.

Recently, I completed my first Workaway experiences in Spain, staying at two very different fincas. Those stays confirmed what I was already feeling: projects with purpose, where people work together and share daily life, are what feel most fulfilling to me. I loved the human connection, the cultural exchange, and the feeling of contributing to something that mattered to the people who live there.

I’m especially interested in sustainability, farming, land restoration, construction with natural or simple materials, animal care, and general upkeep that keeps a place alive. That said, I’m flexible and happy to help wherever I’m needed. I learn quickly, take responsibility seriously, and try to show up with good energy and respect for the space and the people in it.

Language and culture are a big part of why I’m doing this. I’m actively learning Spanish and hoping to become fluent over time. I’m very comfortable making mistakes, listening more than speaking, and learning through everyday interactions.

At this point in my journey, I’m open to opportunities across South America and beyond, places that feel aligned, whether they’re in Patagonia, the Andes, the jungle, or somewhere unexpected. Ideally, I’m looking for stays of around a month or longer, when it feels like a good mutual fit, so I can really settle in and become part of the rhythm of a place.

More than anything, I’m looking for meaningful experiences, cultural immersion, and honest exchange. I’m easygoing, reliable, curious, and grateful for the chance to learn from the people and places I pass through.

Quais são suas habilidades?

I’m comfortable with hands-on, practical work and learning new skills by doing. I enjoy physical tasks, working outdoors, and contributing to the daily upkeep of a place. I’m reliable, observant, and tend to figure things out as I go rather than waiting to be told what to do.

I have experience with farm work, gardening, animal care, basic construction and maintenance, trail work, planting, and general land care. I’m used to simple tools, shared responsibilities, and work that changes with the weather or the needs of the day.

I’m also comfortable with household tasks like cooking, cleaning, organizing, and keeping shared spaces running smoothly. I enjoy working as part of a team and helping create a calm, respectful, and cooperative environment.

More than any specific skill, I bring a good attitude, patience, and a willingness to learn. I show up on time, take responsibility seriously, and try to leave places better than I found them.
