I have travelled and lived in many different countries for a few weeks/Months at at time mainly in my motor home to Scotland, wales, france spain, through Itlay and northern Greece and lived in Bulgaria for 7 months. I also flew to Switzerland lived there for 3 months and to Baguio in the Philippines for nearly 3 months. During this time I have helped cat/kitten rescue charities through various ways of finding the work. My last stint was a year ago when I worked for Street cats as a volunteer for nearly 4 months starting in September 2024 . After Xmas and the New Year I returned to my home on the Costa Blanca. I live in my touring caravan that is next to my motor home.

I own a plot of land near Pego town, Alicante Spain in the orange groves on a scenic flat land about half way along the eastern side of the Spanish coast. I developed the plot of land from nothing to what it is today with sheer hard work and determination over 10 years. The coast itself is 7km away, and the mountains further inland about 4 km away near to the town of Pego.

My location is in the level grounds of the orange groves in the campo (countryside). The approach to it is along single track asphalt road. The nearest town is Pego about 4 km away where there are supermarkets (Mercandona, Aldi, Masymas being the big ones) and a variety of shops.

El Verger is near to the coast about 7km in the opposite direction. Here there are sandy beaches and pay for staying at campsites. There are supemarkets, shops and commercial centre and Sunday Rastos (like a car boot sales where people sell second hand goods and market goods including fresh fruit and veg grown locally). Ondara is close to El Verger where there is a bigger commercial shopping centre there with a greater choice of shops.

The view towards Pego is spectacular of the mountains.

Imagine then how disappointed I am that after all these years of working for a volunteer for hosts, that now I need some help myself that Workaway website has decided that I should not be listed as a host as there are already too many hosts in Spain!

In the future I am not looking to be a volunteer only with friends that I already know who I have worked for as a volunteer in the past. Unfortunately that cannot be at the current time as I have been extremely ill and will take some weeks to fully recover my strength. I am unable to help from Workaway in that respect as I do not have a website!

I am retired and have developed my own land from scratch where I lived, in Spain near a town called Pego that is on the Costa Blanca. I installed security cameras connected directly to the Internet so that I can view my land while am away.

WORK RELATED INFORMATION.

I love caring for cats and have rescued many over the years. I helped cat charities. I am a DIY enthusiast and do a lot of work in connection with that including construction, ground maintenance, house keeping, mechanics, administration and account keeping. I am able to work on my own initiative from the instructions given on what tasks to perform. I am reliable and honest.

I am very good at organizing things such as tidying up and putting things into good order. For me to work properly I do need to get things properly organized that is the number 1 priority.

  Being punched on the nose, shouted at, abused and irritated, other than that I am not aware of any other allergies.

  Yes. I am not fond of eating rocks, glass, soil, wood or metal, but apart from that I am not too fussy but avoid having too much of the eating of meat, but if I am paid for it I will eat anything you like so long as it will not make me ill or sick.
