Hello everyone! I'm a 22 year old from England (I'm half Italian so luckily no visa trouble!) with an interest in spirituality, creativity and reconnecting with nature. I love speaking to all different kinds of people and learning new skills, perspectives and ways of life. I have a strong dislike of technology although I'm very good at using it and would like to escape the fast-paced consumerist lifestyle of city living. I have booked some time off work and for the 14th - 20th of March and am looking to volunteer somewhere that will allow me to decompress by living slowly, connecting with people, the land and admiring the beauty of small moments.

I enjoy dancing and know a few styles (the picture on my account is the Lindy Hop if anyone is familiar with swing dance) and I am almost always singing. I recently found out I have a talent for drawing and so I've been spending a lot of time in nature, paying attention, slowing down and analysing shadows. I also enjoy journaling, yoga (though I'm not very skilled yet), and meditation. I would love to volunteer somewhere where the work is rewarding and the lifestyle is simple and quiet.

My stay will only be short but I don't mind doing any variety of tasks and I am especially happy to try something new. I would love to develop a skill in carpentry but 1 week is likely not enough time. I don't mind any conditions that come with natural living (e.g. natural toilet) although I would appreciate a warning if I should bring layers since I particularly dislike the cold!

I can cook, clean and look after animals. I used to help my grandad harvesting vegetables in his garden so I'm also happy getting stuck into dirt and doing manual tasks. I'm very amiable and am a fast learner! I'm looking to develop my skills in DIY and maintenance.

This is Sabrina & Chido, we stayed with Shiva for 2 months in March and April of 2022. We were the first group to live in the tiny house and loved our time here! Our job was to feed the cats every day, which we did between 1200 and 1300. Otherwise we gave the cats water, brought up other cat food, and did odd jobs with the vet or on the land… read more around once a week. Shiva is such a lovely host! We'd do something every Saturday (before Shiva went to the states) which was a great way to get to know each other. We both felt really close to Shiva when her first met her and she's really easy to talk to about everything. Shiva is always really understanding and always made sure we had absolutely everything we needed, like water and cooking utensils. You have a lot of free time with this workaway and Its definitely important to come with a friend. The Zeko Hop group are all super friendly too and always gave up her with something if we needed it. The island is also incredibly beautiful and we spent a lot of time just seeing it. You can walk down hill to the beach as well, which we loved doing! The hill was a bit daunting for us at first, but you get used to it really quickly since you'll have to hike it almost every day. We came in the transitional period between winter and spring so it was useful to know how to make a fire but if not the neighbours might give you a crash course! we'd reccomend this stay to anyone who loves cats, since they're the most important part of this workaway. They all make an impression in their own ways and it was great getting to know all of their characters from Fireball's sassiness to Girly's jumpiness. The cats will really give you all their love while you're with them and they're the highlight of this workaway by far. If you love them, they'll love you right back and we miss them already having just left. We've really enjoyed our stay here- the tiny house is super cosy and warm when you make a fire and you're always kept company by all of the cats. The workaway gives you a local's guide to Vis and in staying here we got to know the island much better than you could If you'd gone to stay on the island short term as a tourist from walking on the beach in Rogaccic and taking hiking trails around the island to sitting in the beautiful cafes in Komiza. Thank you for everything Shiva-we'll definitely be back!

Sabrina is a very nice and kind girl, she was very good with our dogs, they loved her, respectful of the house rules. We were very happy to host her, she is very attentive to communication and really available when we needed a hand without warning.
