Hello, my name is Ryan and I am a traveler from the United States. I have spent the last few years working as a cheese maker on a small scale dairy in California, and I spent several years in organic vegetable production before that.
Farming and travelling are both passions for me, and I have had many great work exchange and apprenticeship experiences through WWOOF, Workaway, and similar resources. I am a solid worker and try to be a considerate guest, and can provide references to that effect. I have experience caring for and milking cows, goats, and sheep, and I'm comfortable with them all. I also feel at home in the market vegetable patch or home garden. I love to cook and I am open to all kinds of food with no dietary restrictions. I also have degrees in math and English and experience in tutoring both. Outside of work I enjoy hiking, bicycling, canoeing/kayaking, reading, and conversation. I am comfortable in large group or remote settings, and I enjoy children and pets. On my upcoming journey, I hope to visit farmstead creameries across Europe to learn the methods and traditions of classical dairying and cheesemaking.

Milking by hand or machine. Cheese making, animal care, and all types of gardening. I can drive a tractor and change and use its implements. I enjoy cooking and am always happy to help clean.
