After working the 9-5 for some time in our home countries, both of us realized that it was not for us. We wanted to embrace a nomadic lifestyle to see and experience as much of this beautiful world as we can. Rahul started his journey in May 2019 and has been travelling and volunteering ever since then. We met while travelling Poland in September 2019.

We believe in trying new things and learning about other people’s lives, cultures and challenges. We love travelling to new places and we especially love animals and wildlife. We are love nature and like to go on walks and light hikes. We always try our best at any task that we are given and we love learning new skills and approaches. We are respectful to your culture and customs, eager to learn and easy to get along with.

Now a bit about us :)

Rahul was born in South India, and grew up in Canada. He studied Finance in university and worked for a large company for 5 years. He has always loved to travel but while working it was usually very brief (2 - 3 weeks each year). He didn't like that style of travel - it was about checking boxes and going to all the popular tourist spots. Since quitting his job, he has travelled Europe extensively and has done many workaways in different countries. During the pandemic Rahul lived in his original rural home town in India and worked towards setting up a permaculture practice there.

Lina on the other hand was born and raised in Northern Germany. She studied European Economics with a special focus on development economics and languages in a lovely town in Southern Germany. She has also lived a year in the UK and in Spain for her education. Since then she has worked in an office job before deciding to leave Germany and also become a world citizen.

Currently, we want to experience the Australian lifestyle a bit to determine if we would like to settle down in Australia for a year or so. We believe that Workaway gives us the opportunity to actually get to know the country, its people and its culture.

Between the two of us, we have done 8 workaways so far:

1) Helping with gardening and maintenance in Bellinzona, Switzerland (5 weeks)
2) Dogsitting 3 huskies in Biel, Switzerland (5 weeks)
3) Teaching English in a small Bavarian town (6 weeks)
4) Helping in an organic farm in Gran Cararia, Spain (1 week)
5) Helping with a finca/garden project half way up a volcano in Tenerife, Spain (4 weeks)
6) Looking after 43 huskies and assisting with tourists in the Arctic Circle in Finland (4 weeks)
7) Helping out on a horse farm in Shepparton, Australia (2 weeks)
8) Volunteering in a monestary and learning more about Buddism in Khaosiung, Taiwan (4 weeks)
9) Supporting a hands-off elephant sanctuary in Kanchanaburi, Thailand (4 weeks)

Quais são suas habilidades?

We have 5 years of experience in the corporate world, including financial analysis, consulting and project management. Rahul has a Private Pilot Licence and his training helped teach him how to handle high pressure situations. Lina has taught kids (6-16 years) English and Spanish for about 6 years and has written multiple articles which were featured in different papers.

We also have experience with:
- Very experienced with dogs (years of training dogs, looking after them)
- Working with wild animals (volunteered at Toronto Wildlife Centre)
- Looking after horses (2 week workaway in Australia and 6 years of horse riding)
- Experience with teaching (Teaching Assistant for 2 years in high school and university)
- Experience teaching English (6 weeks in Germany to adults and 6 years to kids)
- Childcare, babysitting (4 weeks in Finland)
- Leading hikes
- Gardening experience (1 month workaway in Switzerland)
- Customer service experience
