Hi! I'm Mimi, 27 years old from the UK - I am an adventurous, creative and curious individual who is currently living in Australia on a Working Holiday Visa and looking for authentic experiences within different cultures around the world and to connect with new people. I worked as a Paralegal for 6.5 years on a Higher Apprenticeship, during which time I qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive Lawyer.

I switched careers and went into Digital Marketing and Media Production for 12 months, which I loved as it allowed me to explore my creative side, however, I have always had a passion for travelling and helping other people. I took a solo trip to Los Angeles & San Diego and decided to quit my job in December 2022. My best friend and I travelled to Bali, Thailand, Kuala Lumpar and Dubai for four months last year before coming to Australia, where I currently work as a Guest Services Agent in a 5* hotel (reception duties, liaising with different departments, handling financial transactions, ensuring guests have an enjoyable experience). I have also volunteered twice in Thailand through Workaway, once as a live-in tutor and another time as a teacher at an Academy.

I am currently freelance writing and web designing in my spare time, however my passion is creating content around mental health. I am a Rapid Transformational Therapist and Certified Hypnotherapist who is currently setting up her own business. I am enjoying living in the moment and seeing as much of the world as I can - my dream is to be able to work remotely from anywhere in the world while pursuing a passion that helps me give back to others.

I am very interested in learning new languages - I studied German when I was in secondary school and I am currently learning Japanese through Duolingo (for the past two months). English is my first language so I would be more than happy to teach this. My mother is Filipino and I can understand some Tagalog but need more practice!

Quais são suas habilidades?

- Worked as a Paralegal / Lawyer for 6.5 years - this involved working on personal injury / clinical negligence cases where we were defending the NHS (doctors/nurses) against claims of medical negligence. This allowed me to develop my written and oral communication skills, as well as helping me to be organised and efficient at managing my workload.
- Within this role, I also worked as an Apprentice Mentor, where I visited schools to run workshops and speak with the students about their future careers. I found this really rewarding being able to help mentor and guide young students with what they wanted to do in the future.
- During the pandemic, I moved in with my sister to help her babysit and play with my niece (who was 5 at the time but is now 7 years old). I have experience helping her with her school work and also downtime writing, reading, playing games and spending quality time with her.
- Digital Marketing Consultant and Creative Producer for 12 months - this involved managing social media channels, creating strategies to market businesses. In my role as a Creative Producer, I was also responsible for planning and executing the photoshoots, researching trending content ideas and helping the team to meet key deliverables.
- I have solo travelled to America for a week and also to the south of France - this has taught me how to be self-sufficient, gain more confidence as I have had to navigate on my own to get to new places and also has allowed me to meet new people along the way. I love forming new connections!
- Worked on a farm for a week in France in January 2023 - this involved aggregating, planting and digging up vegetables, cooking and cleaning.
- Two Workaway experiences whilst in Thailand: one as a live-in tutor with a family and another as a teacher in an Academy (for children aged between 4-16).

I am really passionate about mental health and self-care - in my spare time, I love to create video and social media content around this on Instagram and Tiktok, and have coached women around this too. I love reading, writing/journalling, drawing, doing yoga and meditating, going for walks in nature, cooking, and learning new things (I am currently learning web design whilst setting up my own therapy/holistic services business).

I am a big foodie and love trying and cooking new cuisines. I love exploring new places and travelling - my dream is to have my own business where I can work from anywhere in the world so I can travel as much as possible and have control over the hours and work that I do each day. I am also very passionate about expressing myself through fashion and photography (although this is more difficult when you're travelling and living out of a backpack!)

I would love to meet new people while I am doing my workaway experiences - I consider myself a very easy-going, friendly individual and am very open-minded about trying new things!
