My name is Mahon; I have been accepted into a Social Work Masters program with Boston College and am trying to figure out housing while I attend grad school. I would love to help someone out with errands, cooking, cleaning, garden projects, pet sitting, and child care in exchange for room and board or reduced rent. I have utilized Workaway in the past while traveling in Japan and South Korea so I understand this isn't a usual use of the site and, am reaching out with the thought that there might be some hosts interested in an extended volunteer setup. l am a very flexible person who mostly likes to get to know my surroundings and meet new people. Following is a little more about me and my past work experiences. I did a number of terms with AmeriCorps, which is sort of a US-based PeaceCorps, a number of years in Wilderness Therapy guiding youth and young adults through the woods, and seasonal work with Outward Bound. I hope you will consider me for whatever your needs may be. I look forward to talking more, and I hope, regardless of if we do talk more, that you have a great day.

Quais são suas habilidades?
Mahon: I have experience with construction and power tools, though I do not have training as a carpenter. I have experience figuring out computer programs to complete administrative and creative tasks. I have worked as a crew member and crew supervisor for environmental trail and restoration projects which included a lot of planting and invasive species removal. I have tutored youth in maths and reading/writing for educational outreach and afterschool programs. I also have experience with childcare, youth mentorship, and creating hands-on and play-based educational activities for high school and elementary-aged children. In addition, I have a lot of experience leading multi-day backpacking trips for youth and young adults and living in communal spaces (including large group cooking). My undergrad major was studio art so I have experience with drawing, sculpture, and planning out creative projects. I grew up with two dogs and worked on their training for how they acted around people, performing tricks, and behavior on walks. I have lived in a few countries and love making new connections and making the most out of my time wherever I go.
