Hello All, My name is Lily Oulton. I am located in Nova Scotia, Canada. I am a rugby player but have needed to take a break from my passion/sport due to head injury. I am interested in taking a step back and rediscovering my passions and interests. I have grown up on an organic family farm and have been wanting to travel more. I have recently become interested in what agriculture could mean to me and the rest of my life and want to learn more. I have a deep appreciation for water (lakes, bodies of body), especially the ocean and all it’s beauty. I currently work at a high ropes and zip-line course and had the opportunity to work with the Canadian Mountain Rescue Team Atlantic. This job has grown my adventurous spirit. I appreciate food, our land, learning, and experiencing new things.

Quais são suas habilidades?

Description of Skills.

As previously mentioned I grew up on a family farm that is organic. Both my parents have farming in their extended families ( my grandfather has a large fruit farm ). Along with the organic farm, my father also takes care of dairy cattle. Growing up and working on a family farm has given me many experiences and learnings. I have learned how to drive tractors, help with planting and preparing the fields, packing the vegetables, and selling the food at the market. All these life learnings to date have come with their own set of new lessons and skills development.

I grew up attending overnight camp and ended up being a camp counselor. I absolutely adore working with children, they are amazing to be around. I have just grown up in a large family with lots of kids so I find it comes naturally. Today I work at a high ropes and zipline park. It has helped develop my knot tying skills, life safety, fall protection, rope and pulley systems, and teamwork. Along with the safety of high ropes courses I also spent time learning maintenance of courses. This looks like fixing decking wood on platforms or creating new challenges, using all sorts of tools to create and repair.

I am happiest when I am outside, active and exploring. I am hard working and dedicated. I have most recently attended Bishop's University in Quebec,Canada. While attending I was a member of their varsity women’s rugby team. Playing rugby has been keen interest and passion in my life. I have learned valuable lessons from discipline, to self love, to 'work through it' even on the tough mornings, to the importance of teamwork.

I find myself to be an easy going person who appreciates a clean space and clean environment. I can be self motivated but do work better when given a task. I have grown up with two brothers, one older and one younger as well as multiple pets, helping me to create joy around pets and comfort living with others.

I really enjoy downhill skiing. I am starting to really get into reading as well as journalling, both things I find therapeutic for myself. In the past couple years, I have started to gain interest in camping and hiking, looking to grow my knowledge on back country camping and experience the beauty of hiking in more then my province. Growing up on a farm with an abundance of local produce I do have a small passion for cooking, I enjoy planning meals, trying out new recipes, and experimenting with what is seasonally.

Other then these I am a extroverted person who loves to meet new people, go on adventures, but also enjoy the peace of being quiet and calm. I enjoy card games of all sorts and to share a good laugh/conversation.
