Hello!

It is 2025 and I am here again after having thoroughly enjoyed my Workaway experiences in 2019 (France and Morocco, 6 months) and 2022 (Paris, 2 weeks), before I become any older.

I am looking forward to another longer term Workaway 'sabbatical', and plan to spend at minimum three months abroad. I would prefer to find a host or hosts who are interested in hosting me for at least one month. I prefer a private bedroom and bathroom and a place with good internet.

For you I can help with landscaping/gardening, interior renovations, art or restoration projects, as well as perhaps help with managing an Airbnb-type business you may be operating. I have experience with all of this. I'm also interested in art projects, and can be helpful with general tasks/chores of course.

About me...I am agreeable, reliable, calm and sometimes a little quiet by nature, but I also enjoy good conversations and am friendly. I enjoy stretching/yoga, eating healthy, and being mindful.

Quais são suas habilidades?
I'm a flexible person so even if I'm not 'skilled' at something I feel like I can learn enough to help with what's critical. But here are my 'specialities':

I can be helpful with tutoring in English. I will take it seriously, and I'll work with who it is that needs help to find more about their learning preferences and goals. I am a writing tutor for college students currently, and have a patient approach. I know it's necessary, because as someone who's learning French, I would also ask for a little patience. :)

Cleaning/organizing/general tasks: This one is fairly straightforward yet so important, I am a clean and organized person just by nature and as such I'm a natural fit for tasks related to this.

Help with your rental business (or otherwise): My parents rent properties through Airbnb and I have been helping them with that for several years, so I feel fairly familiar with the business. I've helped several hosts with this as well. I can be helpful with communications, social media, etc.

Other: I have a creative mindset. Art projects are always enjoyable for me.

Anything else? Please feel free to ask me about specific projects or requests you'd have, even if I haven't listed it here. There's a good chance I have some experience, in some way.

Thank you for the opportunity to stay with you at this authentic surf and yoga retreat.

I believe I spent six weeks here with Mbarek, Medi and the other staff (cooks and cleaners) in August and September, and spent my working hours taking photos of the surfers, drafting and publishing social media posts, and trying to keep up with inquiries and… read more profile updates across the many platforms that the retreat is listed on. Charlotte was not there during my stay, but she has a very exhaustive catalog of information for volunteers to access on a drive, which did help me after I was able to navigate where to find what.

As others have said - the vegan food was always incredible, made in-house everyday, and each meal of the day was a real gift. It was not too busy when I was there, so the retreat was calm and fairly quiet. The building sits on the edge of the town, in a quiet area, and you will have a beautiful view on the roof. It is a good walk to the actual beach, 30+ minutes if I remember correctly, but only about 15 minutes to some very nice cafes in the town itself. There are actually dozens of retreats in this town, so you will find plenty of other tourists browsing around.

Based just on my experience, I think it would be ideal to have two volunteers there who both manage the social media and bookings, as I felt sometimes overwhelmed and unsure of what to prioritize. If there is just one volunteer there, ideally Charlotte would then be there as well. What this means though is that for those of you who are looking for a real challenge and to really exploit your knowledge of social media, online marketing and communications, you will find it here! I strongly recommend you bring your own laptop however as I was having to borrow Medi's very frequently to do my work - thanks again Medi!

Taxis to nearby towns/cities are very cheap, and I absolutely recommend you visit the Souk El Had in nearby Agadir. You will need a taxi to visit anything outside of the town. There are nice cafes in each of the little towns nearby, and of course, endless of beach where it is easy to spend several hours. Medi took me to the street markets in Banana Village, and I joined him, his friends and some of our guests at cafes with live music on some nights. On one of my last nights there, we enjoyed a campfire on the beach at night.

Miles stayed with us for a short period but we really enjoyed his company. He is a nice and well educated person. He mainly worked in our huge garden (10’000 m2) where he did a very good job. He would be welcomed again at our guesthouse.
