Hello everyone!

My name is Julia, I'm from Leipzig (East Germany) where I have been studying for 5 years to become a teacher for English and French. From November to February I will be travelling around Australia which will be the first big solo journey for me: I've done an Erasmus in Lyon and some short solo trips around Europe but none of them doing while doing workaway so I am super excited to see not only a lot of the country but also get to know new people, profit from interesting conversations, learn new skills and languages and grow beyond myself! I am an open-minded, easy-going, calm person who adapts quickly to new situations, always has an open ear and empathy and is eager to learn and curious to see the world!

I have a big passion for a any kinds of sports but especially dancing (been doing it my whole life and hope to live the Dance Academy dream in Sydney haha), tennis (big goal on my bucket list to visit the Australian Open during my travels in January!), volleyball, soccer, yoga, hiking, ...! You will usually find me with a cup of coffee in one hand and a good book in the other one or I recently started crocheting which is a new hobby I love! In general I am always curious to learn new things and get inspired by others passions! Further, I love to try out new recipes for cooking and baking and love to play card and board games, so show me your favourite ones!:))

I love languages as I also study two of them which is why I would love to improve my English even further and become more confident in speaking fluently. If you know some French I would be happy to improve this as well but as a future French teacher I could also help you with some of that on my own and as a German native speaker I can help you with that as well if you're interested.

Quais são suas habilidades?

I have almost completed my studies to become a teacher and due to that I have done multiple internships at schools, gave tuition regularly, even coached a children's dance crew and always been around children and teenagers so I can imagine taking care of your children at home, do some babysitting as well as pet-/house sitting as I also grew up with several animals at home (such as dogs, cats, chicken, rabbits, ...). I can do some basic garden work I've learned from my parents' garden and general cleaning and housekeeping tasks. I would say I am a very tidy person and always have an eye for things that can be done. I also love to cook and bake (prefer to do so on a vegeterian diet but would also cook whatever you like).
Additionally, I have been working in an ice cream parlour for 3 years now and in other parts of gastronomy and hospitality since school such as catering, event set up, waiting ... so I know what it means to work hard for money and am a reliable, friendly worker!
Other than that I am open to do all other kinds of tasks, learn new skills and profit from your experience!
