Descrição

We're Evie (24) & Jake (30), a British couple currently travelling/living in Australia.

We both have extensive hospitality backgrounds, having started in the industry in our early teens and with experience spanning bars, pubs, clubs, restaurants, bakeries, cafés, hotels, events and festivals. From washing the pots to managing teams, we've done it all.

Alongside our hospitality careers, we have experience in teaching (specifically teaching English to foreign students), gardening/permaculture, freelance writing, team leadership and event management.

During down time, we both enjoy running, keeping fit and listening to podcasts. We much prefer early mornings to late nights and on our days off, you'll find us exploring our area and enjoying local cafés. We're a social pair and take pride in our warm demeanours. We're fortunate to have made good friends in all of the new places we've had the pleasure of visiting: this is one of the reasons we love Workaway as we've made friendships for life through some of our opportunities.

Jake is a keen yogi and distance athlete, partaking in the Ironman event in Cairns this June. He smashed the Manchester Marathon 2023, with a sub-3 hr time, so it'd be advantageous to be staying in a space with nearby running routes.

Evie likes reading, writing and practicing languages. She's on a mission to read 24 books in 2024, and particularly enjoys autobiographies. She hosts a women's running club, with the aim of fostering a community of women from all over the world who're building their lives here in Oz.

We are both vegan, following a four-month workaway tenure in a vegan hotel in Scotland. Although we're open to a variety of locations and opportunities, it's important to us both that there are vegan options available. We both love cooking, so we're happy to share some of our favourite dishes.
