Hi,

Please, call me Justin.

I retired in March 2022 and have been traveling for both fun and self-exploration.

Later that year, I thru-hiked the 500-mile Colorado Trail. In 2023, I took a 3000-mile bike tour from Oregon to the Dakotas and down into Colorado. And in 2024, I traveled for six months and visited ten countries in Central America and Europe. My current adventure is more internal -- a personal writing project still in its early stages.

In between these adventures, I worked in Telluride at the ski resort, at the YMCA of the Rockies, a conference center in Estes Park, CO, and in Medora, ND at the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation. Currently, I am working in Flamingo, FL in Everglades National Park.

I've held a lot of jobs in my life. Everything from chopping bait on a fishing boat, to teaching college-level courses, to working in a warehouse, running my own online business, and leading group fitness classes (when I was in my early sixties.)

Unfortunately, I can't boast many technical skills in construction, carpentry, or gardening, but I can learn anything that someone will take the time to teach me. I know how to work hard and finish what I start.

Along the way, I also earned a doctorate in Religious Studies, taught at several colleges, and published two books in my field. So I can hold up my end of a conversation on many topics.

I would prefer longer stays of several weeks to several months. By the way, I have my own transportation and I don't drink or smoke.

I hope this gives you an idea of who I am and what I can offer.

Quais são suas habilidades?

I've done a great many things. I've earned a doctorate in Religious Studies, taught college courses, and published two books in that field. I've done a lot of manual labor, especially warehouse and shipping work. And at 60 years old, I became a personal trainer teaching groupd exercise classes.
So I've done a lot of different things. But the thing I'm best at is learning something new, having what the Buddhists call, "Beginner's Mind."
