Descrição
In the past 20+ years, while living and working in two dozen countries abroad, I spent the past 10+ years as a nomad living out of a camera backpack and two sports bags, a minimalist modest lifestyle that allows me to focus on what truly matters in life and prioritize experiences over materialistic impulses. Workaway allows me to help out people with their projects while chasing my passion for travel, photography (especially wildlife), and writing.
I normally spend 3-5 hours every day in nature, starting before sunrise, and I return before sunset again. I’m laser-focused on building a solid wildlife photography portfolio this year, so I prefer staying at places surrounded by nature, forests, lakes, hills, and mountains, and wildlife.
I also enjoy long walks, trail running, and bodyweight workouts. I’ve been living on a budget for many years, so Workaway allows me to explore places that I couldn’t afford otherwise. I’m open to paid jobs as well along the way to fund my travels and photography.
I'm as zen as one possibly can be. I have a reflective nature and a rich inner world. I'm drawn to depth, philosophy, and deep conversations. I’m definitely not a social butterfly; I don't drink or party, but I enjoy listening to people, learning about their lives, passions, and dreams, and also sharing stories of my travels. I often zone out; I live with my head in the clouds like all philosophers, and I never waste a second with things I’m not passionate about. Some call it a no nonsense policy.
I appreciate kindness, curiosity, an open mind, open communication, flexibility, and hilarious jokes. My life is centered around photography, so I recommend you check it out to learn more about my work ethic. I'm available via iMessage, Signal, Threema, and Delta Chat. Quais são suas habilidades?
I'm experienced in general maintenance around the house, using power tools, deep cleaning, gardening, landscaping, cutting down trees with an axe or chainsaw, carpentry, building chairs, remodelling, renovating stuff, painting apartments, sanding and varnishing wooden furniture, window frames, and shutters. I also worked at Airbnbs, B&Bs, and a well-known three-star hotel in Switzerland. I also did housesitting. There is no job too small or too big; I enjoy physical labor and hard work, creating balance from chaos and mess while confronting challenges along the way and improvising when necessary.
Yet, what I enjoy doing most are deep cleaning, organizing things, building things from wood, or renovating wooden stuff.
I work most efficiently on my own so I can prioritize the tasks in a way that makes sense to me. I never hesitate to go the extra mile to get the job done, even if it means working a bit longer. Yet, I can also work in a team. Having previously worked as a team leader, I understand the importance of open communication for everyone being on the same page and distributing tasks at hand according to individual skill sets.
I can also provide phone numbers of some hosts in France, Germany, and Austria who can vouch for me. Some of them hosted me several times and even hired me for paid gigs. -

Algo mais...
I prefer staying in a small apartment/house so I don't disturb anyone with my super early morning walks and late evening returns.
I'd love to have a blender available so I could make smoothies for breakfast.
I prefer a non-smoking household. I'm not a fan of pets like cats and dogs roaming inside the house or loud barking dogs jumping on me.
If there is a renewable/sustainable project around your place, I'd love to hear about it because I'd love to document such projects in the future.
I'm building my brand as an artist online, so I'd appreciate a stable internet connection for online work. I don't do babysitting, petsitting, animal care, tiling, or plumbing.
I normally stay for 3-4 weeks, which gives me enough time to explore the area and to find a host where I can travel next. I'm flexible about the length of my stay, though, because normally I don't have a solid travel plan, so I'm open for longer stays (2-3 months) depending on the season and the type of help needed.
I'm also open to doing paid work outside of the agreed Workaway hours so I can fund my future travels and invest more in my photography. Message me if you are interested in hosting me and have some projects you need help with. -

Dietas especiais
I've been vegan since 2012, so I prefer fixing meals for myself and eating alone. I fast sometimes or skip meals altogether when I'm too busy.
