Hello! My name is Grace and I live in Vancouver, Canada (though I grew up in Saskatchewan) and am moving to Yellowknife, NWT in February.
I like to keep active hiking and dancing, exploring the outdoors, and trying new things. I’m looking to be immersed in a new culture and am keen to practice my French and Spanish while I’m traveling.
I recently completed my Master’s degree in Resources, Environment & Sustainability and am super passionate about the environment. I can’t wait to learn about the local biodiversity and would love to contribute to a project working towards sustainability.
I think of myself as generally easy-going, organized, and self-motivated. I appreciate open communication and enjoy a good conversation. But I don’t take myself too seriously and love to make others laugh!

I currently work in the Environmental Policy field and am passionate about climate change and the environment.
I speak English fluently and would be happy to help anyone wishing to improve their English. I would say I am intermediate in French and very, very beginner in Spanish though I would love to improve!
I have experience dog-sitting and dog-walking and have done a Workaway at a dog Sanctuary. I have worked in retail and customer service and have done some babysitting and childcare.
I worked landscaping this spring past so have some experience mowing lawns, trimming hedges, planting annuals, pruning, etc.
At my home, I have painted interior walls, refinished furniture, done yard work such as mowing the lawn, and grow vegetables and flowers. I enjoy cooking, cleaning, doing laundry, and organizing!

I have danced all my life doing ballet and modern (or contemporary) and I have recently started learning Soca. I am super keen to dance while traveling!
I also really enjoy music. I have played the cello since age 7. I've also begun teaching myself guitar (though I’m very beginner currently) and like to sing. Would love hearing others play and going to any live music.
I absolutely love camping and hiking so would be glad to find someone to accompany me on these kinds of trips. I have also recently begun surfing and hope to surf while travelling.
Overall, I’m pretty much up to try anything and not afraid to get my hands dirty!
