Hello!

My name is Eleni and I am originally from California. I grew up in a very active Greek-American household along with three other siblings and lots of pets. My parents love to travel and have instilled this love in my siblings and I. They have been very supportive of gap years and encourage us to go out and explore the world and meet all of the wonderful people who inhabit it.

For some background: I finished my undergraduate studies in December of 2021, obtaining bachelor degrees in Film and Media Studies as well as Anthropology: Global Health and the Environment. I have a history working in the medical field and am extremely interested in modern day medicine as well as the convergence of lifestyle and community in overall health and wellness. In September of 2023, I will begin a Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing, specializing in Poetry - very employable, I know. Since graduating, I have been lucky enough to travel full-time. Parts of my trip have been solo, while other parts have been with friends, and most recently I've had the opportunity to travel with my sister.

Growing up as the eldest of four children, I am very comfortable in what is often the chaos or rather, the excitement of many people uniquely inhabiting the same space. As both of my parents worked full time (and still do), I played the role of the chef, chauffeur, and tutor to my three younger siblings during our upbringing. As we've grown, I'm so grateful to say that my siblings are my best friends in the world.

Before I head into another two years of full-time study and work, I wanted to make some time for being outside and engaging in physical work. I have found a lot of solace by spending time in nature and at a slower pace. One of my goals as I grow is to be more aware of and intentional with my time - especially prioritizing being outside with nature. I would love to work on a farm, either with agriculture and/or livestock. Although I want to spend time outdoors, I know the importance of everything that needs to go on inside the home and am more than willing to help around the house as well. I am very open to learning any skills!

I would describe myself as very curious, persistent, and detail-oriented. I believe in the importance of listening and patience, and strive to always maintain an optimistic outlook. Meeting new people has been the most enriching part of my travels thus far and I am always so eager to hear any stories people are willing to share.

I am currently at home but hoping to maybe travel this winter!

Quais são suas habilidades?

Gardening and weeding, tending to animals - dogs and cats, house-siting, basic knowledge of tools, childcare, painting, cooking, home-care, landscaping, interior design...bonus - recently learned how to debone a fish.

I love to read and write, and am often the point-person for my friends and family when they need an editor for pieces both creative and academic. I am able to tutor in English, the arts, film, history, and humanities.

Growing up in a very busy family, I am comfortable living with many people and am open to understanding different family dynamics. I know the importance of respect, emotional intelligence, open conversation and flexibility.

Also, to clarify, I have an automatic driver's license and an international driver's license. Hoping to learn how to drive manual/stick-shift soon :)

UPDATE: I learned manual/stick-shift! I have taken some lessons, however I would still consider myself a beginner though I can now absolutely drive!
