Hi! I'm Don, 32 from Karlsruhe, Germany.

My last 10 years have been filled with nothing but studying and working so I'm in dire need of a change of pace,
which is why I've just embarked on a working holiday / sabattical year in Australia.

I guess I would describe myself as down-to-earth, honest, open, friendly and helpful. I'm very keen on learning and experiencing new things, seeing new places and meeting new people to get a different perspective.
While I do enjoy to be around people, I also enjoy quieter times and don't mind solitude from time to time.

Generally speaking I am a bit of a computer nerd (I went to uni/engineering school after all), but I know what it means to do manual labour as I've worked in the trades as an electrician for several years (besides other jobs and volunteer work).
My big passion is riding and working on motorcycles.

I'm very fluent in English and German.

My plan is to "go with the flow", to see and do as much as possible while also taking my time to enjoy travelling.
Since going on holiday for a year is bound to be boring at one point (and also because I like having money), I am planning to participate in paid employment from time to time during my year.

Quais são suas habilidades?

My first motto is: I've got two hands, two feet and a head on my shoulders, so I can do anything. And if I can't right now, I can learn it!
And my other motto is: If humans made it, I can figure out how it works.

In Germany, I am a fully licensed electrician and have worked in the solar (photovoltaic) industry for several years. I am very handy and proficient with many tools/power tools.
Even though I have no formal training as a mechanic, I can do basic maintenance on most types of machinery.

My english is pretty good, if I may say so myself, so I'm able to do administrative tasks as well. Naturally I know how to use a computer.

I have little experience in farming, but I can pick things up quickly and I'm an avid learner.
I'm not afraid to get dirty.

I can also help out in the kitchen, even though I will probably never be a master chef or even make a career out of it. So far, nobody has died from what I cooked.

My one weakness is music. I can't sing or play an instrument, previous efforts in this direction have failed. Oh well.
