Hi, we're Katrin from Austria, and Ruben from Spain. We normally live in Costa Rica, but are currently taking a break from our jungle life to explore new places and inspring projects.

Together, we bring more than 40 years of international experience in gastronomy, tourism, and guest services, along with a great deal of joy in creating wonderful memories for people.

Katrin’s Journey
When I moved to Costa Rica, I brought a dream to life by designing and building the Green Moon Lodge, a magical dome house surrounded by jungle and wildlife. My main focus was to create a space that reflects my passion for art in a unique setting. The lodge has become a popular Airbnb, with excellent reviews and I have Superhost status.
I'm also an artist and run a small soap-making business. In addition, I help local businesses by setting up websites, online stores, and booking systems.

Ruben’s Journey
Ruben grew up on Ibiza and has spent all his life in the restaurant and hospitality business. He has extensive hands-on experience in all areas, from restaurant, bar, and kitchen service to managing larger scale events and hotel/restaurant operations. In Costa Rica he works as consultant for hotels and restaurants, helping businesses refine operations, improve strategy, and enhance guest experiences. He is also an enthusiastic sour-dough baker.

Our workaway jouney so far:
In 2025 we spent 6 months in a cheesery and in Norway, where we learned to make cheese, supported the restaurant operations and helped with a wide range of maintenance tasks. Afterwards we spent the winter season in a mountain lodge in the Swiss Alps (Zermatt), supporting both, the restaurant and the hotel.
Currently, until end of October 20206, we are in an Austrian mountain restaurant, where we help in service, kitchen and with overnight guests.

We’re looking for full-time, paid opportunities for the 2026/2027 winter season and onwards, ideally involving a combination of hospitality and outdoor living. We're hands-on, fit, hardworking, and can assure you both passion and professionalism in our daily work.
