Hello -

I am a classroom high school teacher, yet I crave being outside, working the land or hiking a mountain. I do get to help run a 10 day outside orientation program for all incoming 9th graders each fall. I find this part of my job most rewarding. I'm the sole parent of two adult children, and now that they are a bit more independent, I find myself seeking to explore new areas and new opportunities.

Quais são suas habilidades?

I only have very basic gardening skills, but I certainly don't mind getting my hands dirty, and I'm a quick learner. I have done some volunteer work at a local farm to food bank program. I think of myself as a strong woman who does not shy away from hard work. I have OK cooking skills & love spending time & caring for dogs. I have been the head of my household for over 20 years. And I've been teaching high school math for 30 years.

I love listening to music - mostly from the 60's and 70's. I would be very open to the opportunity to attend church with a host family. I am a certified lifeguard to love swimming in lakes and streams.

I am most interested in exploring parts of the US outside of New England or the Northeast. I would be most interested in driving to a host home so that I have my car there for a bit of my own explorations during some downtime.

I am open to eating most types of food, but I do prefer a mostly plant based diet.
