Hello! My name is Cara and I am a 20 year old student of astrophysics at Manchester University. I travelled solo for five months in 2021 with Workaway and it was one of the best experiences I have ever had. This summer I want to continue my adventures and enjoy the world in my time off from my studies.
I am active and adventurous, I enjoy yoga, running and swimming. I like to be creative and care passionately about the environment. I also enjoy cooking and baking; I eat a vegan diet, but am happy to fit in.
I am from a vibrant city called Bristol, in England, which is known for being a happy and unique place.
I have experience with 4 previous amazing Workaways, working with house care, gardening, childcare and animal welfare. Back in 2020 I also lived in Kenya for a few months with a host family, and volunteered at a local school. It was one of the best things I’ve ever done, and I loved living with my host family.
I want to take part in Workaways for many reasons; I think they are the best way to travel, connect with people, learn new things, and have new and exciting experiences!

Quais são suas habilidades?

In school I specialised in maths and physics and I study astrophysics at university.
In previous workaways I have worked in a hostel, helping maintain the rooms and cleaning, I have worked in a dog sanctuary, looking after over 100 dogs, cleaning and caring for them. I have worked at a campsite, helping clean and garden, and I have worked as an au pair, caring for three wonderful children.
I have worked in schools before; I volunteered in local schools when I was in Kenya and I worked as a cookery instructor in an after school club when I was 17. I also have experience as a private tutor, where I have taught 16-18 year old students maths and physics.
I used to speak a little German, but i have forgotten most of it and I am eager to learn it again.
I am a trained lifeguard with a qualification in first aid. I am also trained in food preparation and I have previously worked in a restaurant.
