LAST WORKAWAYS (Thailand and Italy)

** 2026 April
Countryside project (Perdifumo, Italy) 1h south from Salerno / 2h south from Napoli

We spent a wonderful month with Patrick and Luisa in the Cilento region, helping mainly with the construction of a guesthouse, as well as gardening, refreshing some areas around the property and supporting different practical tasks around the project. It was a very genuine Workaway experience where we learned about building materials, tools and basic construction skills, while also sharing daily life, meals and time with their lovely animals.

** 2025 April to October
Locanda di Poggio al Sole (Tuscany, Italy / Paid Position)

As a couple, we supported the full daily operation of the locanda, helping both in restaurant service and guest accommodation. We prepared the space for each service day, assisted in kitchen and dining room tasks, and helped ensure smooth day-to-day operations in a dynamic hospitality environment.
- Full support in both restaurant + lodging operations
- Daily setup and readiness for kitchen and dining service
- Assistance with food prep together with the chef
- Handling orders and payment/POS system
- Managing phone reservations and guest communication
- Receiving suppliers and coordinating daily deliveries
- Property care (including watering plants and general upkeep)
- Managing check-in / check-out for guests

** 2025 February
Happy Tails (Koh Samui, Thailand)

Animal rescue environment focused on both cats and dogs. 
- Daily care of dogs and cats
- Feeding and hygiene routines
- Health/medicine support (as instructed)
- Cleaning and maintenance of rescue areas

We're Viri and Beto (Virginia -33- and Roberto -39-), from Buenos Aires (Argentina) but travelling the last 3 years. We're very kind and social persons. Very helpful, happy, proactive, and always looking for a positive and creative way to solve problems.

Why are we here? Why not? The world is too big to stay in one place & life is too short to do just one thing... We love to travel, do useful things, help others to realize their dreams and projects, meet people, lovely animals, learn about other cultures, learn more languages... just enjoy life. We think the world is changing so fast that we want to be part of these changes.

- A little more about us!

Viri studied at a spanish/english bilingual school back in Buenos Aires, so she manages very well the english language. She also studied to become a veterinarian, for three years, and the career of Psychology. She's also a fan of every kind of animal, mostly cats.

Regarding her work experience, she've worked as a Kindergarten Auxiliar at the school she studied at (St. Margaret's School, Buenos Aires), so she loves taking care and playing with kids. On the other hand, she worked as a Bilingual Recepcionist at a Doctor's Office for 8 years and she used to run a Make-Up project with her twin sister.

Viri really enjoys music and discovering new bands, and loves to sing, playing the guitar, piano, dancing, and everything that has to do with arts.

As soon as we moved to Spain, she started to work taking care of dogs and cats, and as a front desk receptionist in a Thai Massage Center.

Beto has a Degree in Advertising and worked almost ten years in different Advertising Agencies, but in 2014 he decided to start his own project, creating his own Creative Agency with two more friends-partners, so that's his main activity nowadays. Also, he has worked as a University professor, so he likes to teach and give lessons about what he knows.

He also lived in City of Mexico (Exploring the area to expand the agency) and Jericoacoara (Brazil) - Just to know how it was to live at the beach, and loved it. He was helping a friend who owns a Hotel, helping with the tourists, Social Media, checkins/checkouts, etc.-

Beto's also a clown-therapist and really love the circus, practiced acrobatics, love music, play percussion and he's an amateur singer. Passionate for the nature and animals. Loves playing fútbol (aka soccer) and all kind of sports. Also, he's an amateur magician too. He studied one year in one of the most important magic academies back in Argentina (No, he didn’t study at Hogwarts... hahaha!)

Together, over the past few years, we’ve gained strong hands-on experience in hospitality, guest service, pet care, and day-to-day operations in multicultural environments.

A very important milestone for us was our paid position in Italy (April–October 2025) at Locanda di Poggio al Sole (a restaurant with accommodation in Chianti), where we worked full-time across both restaurant and lodging operations. During those months we prepared daily service, supported kitchen and dining room activities, managed orders and payments, handled reservations, welcomed suppliers, and took care of guest check-ins/check-outs and general property upkeep.
That long-term professional experience gave us even more structure, responsibility, and confidence in high-standard hospitality environments.

We also love helping small local businesses with digital ideas. Roberto is currently building a simple digital loyalty tool for cafés, bakeries, shops and community projects, and we’re happy to offer a free account to Workaway hosts who have a real local business and would like to use it :)

Hospitality:
Ready to take responsabilities related to reception (front-desk, checkin, checkout), cleaning, cooking (informal), and making people feel confortable.

Taking care of pets:
We can manage to take care of many animals. We're really-really animal lovers.

Language/cultural exchange:
We can teach English or Spanish. We'll love to learn Italian or improve Portuguese.

House-sitting:
We're fun, but also serious, so we can take care of your home with responsibility.
Includes gardening.

Digital help & small business growth:
We're always looking for business-oriented initiatives :)

DIY & Mantainance:
Ok, we're not really experts in this area, but we really like to learn new things and be able to handle it.
