Hi there!

My name is Isabella, 21 years old, renting in South West London. I work in pharmaceuticals in marketing for the majority of my time, but in between my work hours I am an avid cyclist and go to the gym where I take part in various classes, like zumba, pilates, yoga and circuits. Beyond enjoying being active and fit, I love cycling because it ties into my passion for the environment and sustainability. I cycle rather than drive a car to reduce carbon emissions, alongside using Olio to reduce food waste and save money, and shopping only in charity shops to reduce demand for fast fashion. One of the things I really love about Workaway is the inclusion of the United Nations sustainable development goals and also hope that one day I will be in a position to be a Workaway Host that strives to be self sufficient.

Apart from being devoted to the gym, I am a lover of adventure and the outdoors! When young, I wanted to be an architect, so can appreciate the beauty of a city, but my heart truly does lie with nature, whether it's the coast or mountains.

Although I am relatively new to Workaway, to volunteering I am not. I have volunteered in various places, including caring for animals in a rehabilitation centre and hosting events to support disabled children. But I'd love to continue volunteering more and more because it is something I have only recently truly appreciated my passion for. While travelling South America, Peru and Colombia, over 2 months, I felt a strong urge to give something back to the communities I visited, partly to support these communities, but also to work for something, rather than float as a tourist/traveller between these beautiful places. And there's not much I wouldn't give my all to, I am very determined and a very fast learner.

I've always been passionate about communicating with different people from various cultures. It's fun to test your knowledge but also to connect with people more. I learnt German, not quite fluently though and haven't practiced for years. Started learning Spanish and I am part Italian so would love to learn Italian too.

Quais são suas habilidades?

Firstly, I will give my all to anything but to start with, I am a marketeer, so if you're starting up a business or enterprise like a retreat, hostel, restaurant, or even just want more people to see what you're doing... then I can help! I am very sociable and love to meet new people, I've worked in hospitality and as a waitress before. During COVID, I also had a stint in fruit picking, which I loved (apples, cherries and plums are my speciality :). Besides my work experience, I've worked with exotic animals, including capybaras, monkeys and birds. I also love cooking, particularly healthy dishes always full of fresh veggies. As for languages, I wish i could say I was multi-lingual, although this is some I would like to improve through workaway! I used to know quite a bit of German, and started learning Spanish and Italian. But much to improve! This might be something to bear in mind, however I would love the opportunity to improve. I have also worked in stables before, caring and riding horses.
