My Workaway experience: During my gap year last year, I did 4 months of volunteering in a school in Honduras and I had an unforgettable, amazing time, an experience I´ll never forget! Then I backpacked through Belize, Guatemala and El Salvador for a month before volunteering in a hostel in Nicaragua for a month. Then I went to Peru and taught English in a local school in the mornings and Music in an arts school in the afternoons in Quillabamba, a town five hours north of Cuzco. After that, I went to Colombia where I worked in a hostel on an island, and then another in the jungle! I had great experiences in every place I volunteered, and still keep up with many of the people I met.

I´m now at university in the UK, studying History and Portuguese. My sister and I are looking for volunteer work in Asia this summer. We want to become part of a local community, helping children through teaching English, Drama and/or Music (my sister can also teach ballet) and helping out families in daily chores (for example, on a farm or in community projects). We´re particularly interested in living in a rural environment and getting to know a culture that is different to our own.

I was born and grew up in Spain, of British/American parents, so I am bilingual in Spanish and English. I am a musician (piano, violin, drums and basic guitar). I have had experience travelling in Central and South America as a solo traveller. I´ve also travelled in India, Nepal, Colombia, Malaysia and Thailand while backpacking with my family on multiple trips growing up. When they were young, my parents volunteered in different underprivileged communities in Asia and wanted my sister and me to see the world through different eyes from an early age. I am keen to become a part of a community where I can share my skills, help out in whatever ways I can, and also learn about a different culture and make friends with people from another part of the world. I feel prepared for basic living standards and welcome the opportunity to continue to expand my horizons through experiencing a different culture and way of life.

I have experience teaching English, piano, guitar, drama and swimming to kids of all ages.

Fluent Spanish and English speaker.
I´m a PADI certified Open Water Diver.
I have completed the Bronze and Gold Awards for the Duke of Edinburgh scheme (I have gone on survival courses and expeditions, done volunteer work in my community, and learnt new skills in order to pass these awards).
I have an advanced level of piano and violin.
I play drums.
I have a basic level of guitar and ukulele.
I have taught piano to students between the ages of 6 and 16.
I have travelled in Central and South America, Asia and Europe on a budget.
I have done a lot of acting and played lead roles in plays and musicals.
I have participated in three Model United Nations conferences, and won "Best Speaker" in Barcelona (2022)
I love hiking, travelling, reading, acting, making music, and playing ping pong and tennis.
