Hi!
My name is Amber and I'm a 18 year old ready to experience new things. I’m someone who feels most at home in nature and loves being outdoors whenever possible. I’m excited about learning new trades and practical skills, and I’m always eager to grow by trying things I’ve never done before.

Travelling is something I really want to try because I haven't yet explored any cultures or backgrounds then my own. I’m a hardworking and reliable person who enjoys contributing wherever I can. At this stage of my life, I’m also on a journey of self-discovery—using travel, work, and new experiences to better understand myself and the kind of life I want to build. 🌿🌎

Quais são suas habilidades?

I have extensive outdoor experience and am very comfortable working in nature. I love hiking and staying active, and I’m capable of spending long hours doing physical labour outside. I previously ran my own small lawn care business, where I regularly cut grass, pulled weeds, and handled other yard work, so I’m no stranger to repetitive or physically demanding tasks and always approach them with a strong work ethic.

I’ve also worked as a camp counsellor at an overnight summer camp for several years, where I taught kids a wide range of activities including archery, sailing, canoeing, kayaking, crafts, and more. Through this experience, I learned how to work with many different personalities and age groups, as I’ve worked with hundreds of children of all genders and backgrounds. It helped me develop patience, leadership, and strong communication skills.

Community involvement is also very important to me. I’ve initiated several projects to help support my community and was the top fundraiser at my school for two years in a row. I’ve organized bottle drives, bake sales, food collections, care package deliveries, and social media campaigns to encourage people to get involved. These experiences have strengthened my skills in organizing events, motivating others, and bringing people together for a good cause.

In addition, I’ve worked several customer service jobs, which have given me valuable experience interacting with customers and working as part of a team. Overall, I’m a hardworking, adaptable person who enjoys contributing wherever I can and learning new skills along the way. 🌿

I would love the opportunity to contribute to sustainability projects and learn more about environmentally conscious ways of living. I’m very interested in things like gardening, eco-building, and other hands-on work that supports sustainable communities.

I’m also hoping to reconnect with practices like yoga, meditation, and general wellness while traveling. Being in environments that value mindfulness and healthy living really appeals to me, and I’m excited to learn from people who have experience in those areas.

Most importantly, I approach Workaway as much more than just a place to stay. I’m eager to truly learn from each experience, contribute meaningfully, and grow as a person. I’m very adaptable, open-minded, and motivated to fully engage in the work, the community, and everything the experience has to offer. 🌿
