Hi! My name is Amanda Hemminger and I'm 24 years old, currently living in Brooklyn, NY. I've spent the past few years lovingly studying urban ecology, feminist ecology, soil science and food justice with my journalism and environmental science degree. Recently, I've worked full seasons on urban farms in Brooklyn as well as on in more rural spaces (California) that center regenerative farming practices and Indigenous ethics. As for personal interests, I am drawn toward Indigenous medicine / spiritual practices, earth / eco building, yoga (hathe, tantra, ayurveda, and meditation. I'm interested in expanding my Spanish, spiritual practices, earth building, and organic farming practices in different regions, as well as meet new people! Excited for what aligns.

Quais são suas habilidades?

- Currently working at a local greenhouse / neighborhood nursery in Brooklyn, NY (Care, maintenance and restoration of house plants, perennials, and annuals; Extensive experience in restoring 'dead' plants, seed germination, Integrative Pest Management (IPM), and propagation; Extended my work to personal landscaping projects for private clients, involving intense labor, plant compatibility knowledge, landscaping aesthetics all using organic farming practices and soil; Personable and long term connection with local customers when working retail)
- Worked for a month (April, 2023) on Indigenous, organic farm in Fallbrook, California (Construction and maintenance of chicken coops, goat sheds, stone paths, and small green houses; Cared daily for goats, chickens, pigs, dogs, cats, fish, and gerbils; Proficient in regenerative / permaculture farming methods and ethics)
- Worked full farming season on urban farm in Greenpoint, Brooklyn (Organic agriculture / horticulture, composting, green roof ecology)
- Assisted weekly group composting mixture and rotation of a 5,000 lb bed in Los Feliz, LA

I am also a yoga teacher trained in Tantra, Hatha and Ayurveda and have many years of meditation and energy work experience. I also work with Indigenous medicine often in ceremonies around the world.
