I'm taking my time to explore New Zealand over the next few months, hoping to do both islands and a few workaways along the way. I'm keen to spend a lot of time outdoors!

I'm Abi!

I've always loved travelling and experiencing new cultures and spent five years living in Singapore. I'm now on my next adventure exploring New Zealand, looking to meet locals and other travellers along the way to truly experience what the country has to offer.

I'm a super creative person and I love sewing my own clothes. I also enjoy reading, swimming, cooking, and being outdoors, whether it’s hiking, exploring new places, or just being nature. I'm also a big animal lover! I’ve always had pets around me and love spending time with and looking after animals.

I previously worked as a teacher, working with children across all ages, from pre-school to high school - so if you have any children, I'll be more than happy to get stuck in with both playtime or any homework help!

I've just completed a Master's degree in Sustainability, which has encouraged me to come to New Zealand and connect with nature and hopefully learn more practical skills in agriculture, horticulture, and permaculture.

I’m excited to explore New Zealand whilst meeting like-minded people along the way!

Quais são suas habilidades?

I bring a diverse set of skills to the table, shaped by my passions, experiences, and background:

Cooking: I love making food from scratch and enjoy experimenting with fresh ingredients to create delicious meals. As a 'flexitarian', I eat meat but regularly enjoy experimenting with vegetarian and plant-based meals. If you're a fan of Asian food, I can cook up some of my favourite dishes that I've learnt from my time in Singapore!

Plants & Gardening: Having grown up with a horticulturalist dad, I’ve gained a solid foundational knowledge of plant care, gardening, and the joys of working outdoors.

Sewing & DIY: I’m skilled with a sewing machine, whether it’s mending or creating clothing, curtains, or other projects. I also enjoy basic DIY tasks like upcycling furniture, painting, and adding personal touches to spaces.

Organisation: A self-proclaimed "Marie Kondo 2.0," I take great satisfaction in cleaning, decluttering, and organising spaces to make them functional and inviting.

Animal Care: A lifelong animal lover, I’ve grown up surrounded by pets, so I’m comfortable caring for animals, whether it’s feeding, grooming, or providing plenty of love and attention!

Childcare & Teaching: With four years of teaching experience, I’m confident working with children of all ages, from kindergarten to high school. I can assist with homework, engage in playtime, or offer a supportive educational presence.

Hospitality: I’ve worked in a gift shop and café, gaining experience in customer service, multitasking, and maintaining a welcoming environment.

Sustainability: My Master’s degree in Sustainability, with a focus on business, has equipped me with insights into eco-friendly practices, particularly in reducing waste and fostering sustainable habits.

Digital Support: I’ve completed courses in marketing and have experience with online graphic design platforms, making me comfortable providing digital assistance.

I’m eager to put these skills to good use, whether it’s helping out in a garden, kitchen, or home, supporting creative or organisational projects, or lending a hand in childcare or digital tasks.

Beyond my practical skills, I’m a friendly and easygoing person who loves connecting with others. I enjoy playing board games, listening to music, practicing yoga, and staying active, but I also love a cosy night in with a movie! I’m love meeting new people from all walks of life and enjoy having meaningful conversations, whether it’s discussing current affairs, putting the world to rights, or sharing travel stories.
