Hi, nice to meet you :)
My name is Veronika, I'm a 23-year-old German communications graduate who loves travelling, sports, arts and animals, especially horses and dogs (I have to admit I am biased, as I grew up with them, make sure to check out my photos for some cuteness). I had the chance to meet many amazing people through Workaway before (2019/2020) and I am looking forward to adding to that list. Experiencing a country and its culture first-hand this way is very special to me and I am still in touch with some of the friends I made as a Workawayer five years ago.
Other than travelling, I like getting creative, going on adventures in nature, and doing sports (Yoga, dancing, climbing, swimming, horse-back-riding, just to name a few). It is also important to me to give back to society, so I volunteered for different organizations in the past. Two months ago I have started volunteering for Life Initiative, advising people with low income who struggle with German bureaucracy.

Quais são suas habilidades?
As a person with many different interests, I acquired a variety of skills and I am always eager to learn more. During my previous Workaway stays 2019/2020 I mostly helped out on farms, gardening, general maintenance and taking care of animals (mostly dogs and horses, as I trained some myself growing up with them - and animals just have a special place in my heart).
Other things I can help you with are cooking or baking, simple craftsmanship (I know how to use a range of smaller tools), teaching and looking after children, cleaning and painting.
Creative work is a big part of my life, even more so since I started my communications degree and completing various related internships. I scripted and directed a short-movie, learnt video-editing, managed a NGO's social media accounts, and wrote for a local newspaper. Most recently I worked with exchange students at my university, which included preparing a lot of presentations, and teaching a seminar on writing in an academic context. Being a rather well-organized person definitely helped me with that one. Furthermore I like writing stories, drawing, and photography.

I like Workaway because it is a possibility to stay with and to get to know other people so I'm always open for a nice chat or to do something together.
Eating nutritious, delicious and healthy meals is very important to me, so I won't survive on canned food only. If you can't provide anything else, please let me know in advance. Maybe we can find a solution together :)

If there had been a way then I definitely would have stayed longer than only a week. The family is so welcoming and generous and the girls are lovely. I enjoyed every minute, also the painting jobs. I can totally recommend to stay with Phil, Margaret, Eleanor and Genevieve. Thank you!

Tony and Mandy are fabulous hosts and I had a great time with them. They are generous and welcoming and they showed me different (very beautiful) places in the area and Mandy took me riding every day with her lovely horses. I can definitely recommend them.

My time with Eve, Bill, Matthew, Flossy and Lily was wonderful. They're all very welcoming and generous and the food is sooooo good. I can definitely recommend this family. My stay with Alistair and Carolin was just great! They're so friendly and welcoming. They took me to the beach and to Whangarei's Saturday market. Their project is really interesting and there are a lot of different things to do. And Carolin is a great cook ;)

I had two amazing weeks with Aaron and Samantha. He took us to all his favorite spots in Seattle and to Port Townsend. The atmosphere was always relaxed and I felt very welcome, so I can just recommend this host although he won't be in Seattle much longer.

The time with Michelle, Lauren and Luke was just great. The farm is very beautiful and Luke's a great cook. My first 'real' Halloween and the gaming nights were so much fun. Going for a walk with Michelle was always very inspiring. The horses and cats were great company.

I really enjoied the stay with Val and her family. The trail rides were always fun and they would also help me with my problems, especially Val. Thanks to Reg and Gammy, too, who took me fishing with them. Not to forget Thanksgiving, which I hadn't celebrated before, so it was a very special experience to me, thank you so much.
