About me:

I am a psychology graduate from Oxford University currently working as a therapist. I have back-packed lots in the past and enjoyed always loved volunteering through work away. Starting in January I will be taking a year long career break to explore the world and try different ways of living.

As a person I am fun loving, adventurous, and open minded. I value people highly, and care deeply about their wellbeing. I greatly enjoy helping others and charity work. It is my long-term goal to work either with children or with vulnerable adults. I am vegetarian, and agnostic, although I do not judge others with different beliefs or ways of life and enjoy learning about their views.

My hobbies include Baking, sewing, hiking, kayaking, diving, rock climbing, cycling, aerial acrobatics, crafting, art and of course travel! I love trying new things so any hobbies you'd like to share would be great! In particular I have been wanting more experience in yoga, surfing, and cross-country skiing.

What can I bring:

I have previously volunteered for two months teaching English in Kyrgyzstan to children and adults and really loved it. I am currently taking a TEFL level 5 course to learn more about teaching English. This is something I very much enjoy doing.

I would be very happy to help in a hostel as I have worked extensively in customer service and hospitality, serving both high end London clients and also the homeless. I am warm, friendly, and welcoming to all, helping people feel right at home. I enjoy explaining services and helping people get the most of their time. I am also experienced in cooking, baking, and cleaning and hold myself to a high standard.

I also have some experience off helping with tourism. I have a good camera and have taken photos for my previous hosts to use for their websites. I have also helped to write adverts for tourism that stand out to my fellow travellers.

In contrast I have done lots of work in maintenance and construction. I am far stronger than I look and always keen to get stuck in even if a task is difficult. I love working with my hands and seeing a project come together. Some of this work has been situated on farms, making me confident working with farm and animals and dogs.

Finally, I have experience working with children both in and out of a school context. A combination of babysitting, and volunteer youth work have made me a skilled child carer to a range of ages. I have also worked as a live out opare, during my time with family I became firm friends with the child, and I have managed to inspire a strong love of reading and maths. I greatly enjoy getting to know young people and learning about their views of the world. I am playful, patient and kind. In the past I have also worked as a sex and relationships educator for young people. I believe in the power that knowledge and choice bring to young people and want to help give them the freedom to make choices that work for them.
