Descrição

We're a family of four from the U.S. that has traveled for almost two years, and we depart in spring 2024 for another five months of travel. Together with our daughters, we've seen about 17 countries.

We've had two successful Workaway experiences, one in the Czech Republic, where we helped a family practice English, and another in Peru, where we supported a small, rural library. We've also hosted four Workaways as nannies for our daughters during summer holidays over five consecutive summers.

We think the best Workaway experiences will be ones where you, our hosts, are interested in cultural exchange, hope to learn more about life in the U.S., want to practice your English, can use some handyman support, and like the idea of your children playing with ours and sharing cultures with one another.

Scott is a Civil Engineer, skilled carpenter, and woodworker, and Stephanie is a skilled cook and baker. We'd like a flexible schedule to help your project/family, as we're also homeschooling our children while traveling.

We don't do drugs or smoke. Stephanie doesn't drink alcohol, and Scott enjoys a beer or two from time to time with no problems. We don't party much and enjoy quiet, early nights with our girls. We respect all people, cultures, ways of life, and healthy choices.

Quais são suas habilidades?

Because we're traveling with two young children, our family is less available for a strict 25 hour per week position. Either Stephanie or Scott will need to be with our Penelope and Mira all the time, unless another adult is looking after them. We do think that, together, Stephanie and Scott can provide hours of support based on our skills, below, though schedules will need to be flexible.

Scott was a carpenter for almost 20 years prior to becoming an engineer. He also grew up on a wheat and barley farm in Montana and is not afraid of hard work.

Stephanie can raise money and do marketing, though she's not as interested in that kind of work on her year off. She'd be better suited to supporting English language learning, baking bread or desserts, cooking dinner, and playing with all of our children.

We will also be homeschooling (worldschooling!) our children, supporting math and science learning in the morning and helping the children with writing projects (fiction, poetry, research/essays) in the evening. Perhaps we can roll your children into this work too.
