We would love to spend some of the Summer months in the north of France, and some time near Lyon this year.

We're an Australian couple who have packed up our lives in Australia to come to Europe and do Workaways and WWOOF. Our dream is to own a homestead one day so, we decided to take 1-2 years in Europe to learn. We're eager to meet locals as well as people who have moved to the country, to learn about food growing, foraging, permaculture, bee keeping, medicinal plants, building, DIY, restoration, sustainable living... pretty much everything!

We have January 2024 - January 2025 on a French Working Holiday Visa so we'll mostly be in France also learning the language. I (Steph) used to have a really high level of French so I'm excited to speak more fluently again, and Stephen's mother is French though she never taught him the language. He is keen to learn now!

Stephen - 29 years old

My education background is in Environmentally sustainable Architecture studying a Bachelor of Environmental Design at University. While I loved the theory, the practice of being indoors behind a computer all day was not the life for me. I furthered my education through Conservation and Ecosystem Management and changed career path into "Bush Regeneration" a new industry emerging in Australia that focuses on Ecological restoration, plant identification and invasive weed management. I throughly enjoy working outdoors and learning about ecology!
I have also worked as a carpenter casually, so have many skills with landscaping, gardening, DIY projects, etc.
I look forward to learning more!

Steph - 29 years old
I have always been interested in food and health. I love discovering how people eat and prepare food in different regions. Teaching Yoga & Pilates has been my main job for the last 8 years has which has been incredibly rewarding job, but it's also very draining to give so much of my energy in so many classes, and I've been feeling called to a different lifestyle.

We were lucky enough to do some volunteer weeks on Lady Elliot Island in their revegetation program, and even though we worked all day in the sun weeding, digging holes in mostly coral and planting, I felt so calm and energised and excited for the next day. I'm keen to spend more time supporting people with their projects and learning valuable skills so I can do something similar one day.

I love hiking, reading and food!
