Hi everyone,
I'm Sophie (25) from Germany.
I'm looking for hosts where I can improve my very basic spanish skills, learn as much as possible about Permaculture, especially about tropical Food Forests, herbalism and Off Grid Living.

I'm backpacking for three months through Costa Rica and want to explore as much as possible about the people, the culture, the language and of course the lovely and very wild nature there.

I bring a lot of volunteering experience from working on an ecological farm in Togo, Africa, for one year as well as short time volunteering in Brazil, Austria and Greece.
I'm very passionate about working with plants and children. Most of my jobs or volunteering over the last years involved plants or children.Gardening with children combines both of my passions and I absolutely love it!

I love painting, learning new languages, traveling, especially to very natural places, and socializing with lovely people.

My main passion are Food Forests, I created my "Baby Food Forest" in Togo on the farm I was living at, but I did everything intuitively and would love to learn more about the technical/scientific side of it. I'm currently doing an online Permaculture Design Course and I'm looking for practical experience to complement it.

I like organic, natural food. I mainly eat fruits and vegetables . I usually don't eat meat, milk products or gluten because my body can't take, I have food sensitivities, but I dont mind others eating it next to me at all.
I do eat eggs and honey and goat cheese.
I'm describing this so detailed, because many people have called me complicated with food but for me it's actually very simple: you eat what's good for your body and I eat what's good for my body and we're both happy. As long as I have enough fruits and vegetables I am very happy and often eat very simple meals.

Quais são suas habilidades?

I have a lot of experience with organic gardening. I used to do everything intuitively and now I'm trying to gain more scientific/technical knowledge through the PDC I'm currently doing.
I've worked with children in a kindergarden.
I've worked with elderly people in an elderly home.
I've worked a bit in a supermarket and a restaurant.
I've finished an education in the field of psychology and psychotherapy. It's a job that only exists in Germany and Austria if you have questions about it, just ask:)

I'm very creative and, as already described, love abstract painting and things like crochet.
I speak fluent german, english and polish. I have basic knowledge of russian, spanish, brazilian portuguese and french. Though in those languages my understanding is much better than my speaking .
I grew up bilingual (german/polish) so I'm used to translating for family and friends.

I'm a rather quick learner and very open to learning knew skills:)
