Descrição
We're Isolde (from Austria) and Assaf (from Israel) and have been travelling around for quite a while now, exploring farms, nature, ourselves and whichever other surprises are out there.
Since a big passion of ours is to connect with soil, nature and people, we've been volunteering on vegetable farms, animal farms and in communities in the past years. We love being active - be it digging, planting trees/vegetables and moving stones, interacting with animals, or long-distance swimming and trekking, or anything in between.
We feel at home in the forest, on empty mountains and in the sea, so we're very much into life in the countryside. In fact, we'd love to have our own small farm in the next few years if we find a nice spot that feels correct!
A bit of personal gossip: Assaf has a PhD in Marine Biology in the coral reefs of the Red Sea, a degree in Computer Science, and is currently doing a postdoc.
Isolde has degrees in agriculture, geography and (for reasons she still doesn't understand) town and country planning. During her Master's degree, she specialised on animal welfare in baby goats.Interesses

In the last years, we have volunteered on vegetable farms, animal farms and in communities, both together as a couple and before that separately.
Digging, planting, harvesting, farm infrastructure maintenance, basic carpentry, etc. as well as project planning is what we've been enjoying doing lately. Some bigger projects we worked on were building toolsheds, turning meadows into vegetable gardens, digging ponds, building drainage systems, and alike.
We also have experience working with animals and taking care of them. Isolde absolutely loves goats and also has experience working with them (both in an academic and farming context).
Apart from all the practical help, we like to give our input in the project planning phase using our common sense and ideas, and take responsibility when conducting projects. Letting us work independently on bigger projects sounds good to us.Idade

We had a lot of fun helping to thin out a hazelnut 'forest', maintaining the vineyard, and doing other gardening things. People-wise, we also have only the best to say. Nika is very welcoming, kind and always happy to share his culture and experiences. We also spent time with… read more

In the two weeks we stayed, we mostly worked on two bigger fun projects in the garden: digging a long step through the garden & levelling the ground in preparation to build a wall, and wood- and soil-work to expand the vegetable garden. Needless to mention, we also loved to take care… read more
We spent our working days mostly doing intense work outdoors, including loads of fun digging (first a drainage system in the garden, then a pond) and general gardening. We really enjoyed the work and fell in love… read more
On the farm, they really helped a lot and enjoyed the work outside, especially the digging, getting horse manure and preparing the ground for the vegetables. I wouldn't have as much space to… read more
