Hello:)
I'm Sofie and I consider myself a curious adventurer: my dream (and what makes me truly feel happy) is to explore the many different cultures in the world; to see the beauty of this planet while trying to preserve it as best I can. I love languages and I would like to learn many more than those I already know, and what better way than being in contact with native speakers? It's the best.

I've also been referred to as an adrenaline junky (often): I love everything that has a touch of danger to it and that makes my heart beat increase, as it makes me feel alive.

I've already done four workaways in four different countries: France (construction and baby sitting), Germany (gardening), Greece (hospitality) and Croatia (hospitality).
Some other examples of travelling I've done: an exchange year in Latvia during my high-school years; summer camps in Ireland and Tuscany; solo trips to Pisa and Amsterdam.
I've also spent 6 months in Breuil-Cervinia as a seasonal worker in a hotel and am currently in Northen Sardinia working the summer months as a bartender.

Ever since I was little I've had a passion for exploring and travelling (I got on my first plane when I was only 2 weeks old! I like to believe that little me was very amused by it), it's my way of staying grounded but also, ironically enough, it's my way of escaping reality, as it makes me feel like I'm a part of something bigger.

I got my inspiration from the doctors and nurses that helped me through chemo when I was a child (sadly, I can't tolerate the sight of needles piercing skin, so I will help in other ways accessible to me). Helping others, having an impact, even if "only" in one person's life, is what inspires me; simply put, I want to do good in life, to others and to the world, that's my purpose and it's what I want to be remembered by.

Well, growing up in a multicultural home I was exposed to many different languages which, from a young age, peaked my interest in (in fact) learning languages. I find it fascinating and curious how by simply emitting different sounds we've created many different ways of understanding each other, and depending on what "sounds" are made, two people may or may not understand each other (and I still can't quite wrap my head around it).

Quais são suas habilidades?

I studied in a language school in Sardinia, Italy called "Istituto d'istruzione superiore De Sanctis-Deledda", but during my junior year I did an exchange in Latvia.
I'm fluent in English, Danish and Italian; can hold a conversation in French and know the basics of German.
During my senior year in high school I worked the weekends in a pizzeria as a waitress for 4 months. As soon as I finished school I moved from Italy to Denmark all on my own and started work in a supermarket; then, I decided it wasn't fulfilling, so I quit and started working in a nursery. I realised that I enjoyed working with those little fellas and believe I did a pretty good job; but my soul longs for exploration, so I am on the move again; I want to travel as much as possible now that I'm so young and care-free!
I love interior design and renovating, in fact, I have redone my bedroom plenty of times. This passion of mine probably comes from my dad, whom I have helped in these kinds of things ever since I was able to. So all in all, I love "getting my hands dirty" and know some of the basics, but I'd like to improve my skills.
I'm good with animals, as I've grown up surrounded by cats and dogs and whatnot.
Last but not least, I enjoy cooking and have gotten more and more into it ever since I became a vegetarian at the age of 16 ( I am now 21 and have become ovo-vegetarian).

I love taking pictures (both on my phone and on my analog camera); I know pretty much nothing technical about photography, but that doesn't stop me from snapping a pic when the scenery is beautiful:)
I also quite enjoy writing; anything really, from just my thoughts to poems and whatnot.
I like dancing and staying active, whether that means going on a hike, simply on a walk or to the gym.
