Hi! I’m Sofia, I’m 23 years old and I live on Lake Como, in the north of Italy.
I consider myself an open-minded person, a bit shy but dynamic and cheerful. I enjoy spending time outdoor, hiking, skiing and looking for nice views, freeing my mind with yoga, reading books, and doing creative activities, such as playing the guitar or practicing the art of calligraphy!
I’m currently studying at university, and in particular I'm interested in Cultural Anthropology, a discipline about discovering different cultures, traditions and ways of thinking.
In between my studies I’d like to travel and discover new places, that’s why I’ve joined Workaway. I think it is a unique opportunity to meet new people and exchange stories and experiences. Also, I’m trying to challenge myself and live according to a “carpe diem” philosophy, meaning to make the most of present opportunities.

Quais são suas habilidades?
During the summer season I work at a tourist office. This gives me the chance to meet lots of people from different countries, to practice my English and to learn to work in tourism.
Thanks to Workaway I got the opportunity to learn something about farming and animal care, together with some maintenance and agricultural works.
I have some experience with kids, gained by babysitting, tutoring and a project about organizing creative activities for kids.
For some weekends I worked at a mountain lodge, with housekeeping and waitressing tasks.
I’m always attracted when it comes to creativity, so I’d like to be involved in diy and creative projects.
If someone’s interested, I can teach Italian.
