Hi! I’m Sofia, I’m 22 years old and I live on Lake Como, in the north of Italy.
Since I was a kid my family showed me the beauty of traveling and discovering unknown places, and that's where my passion for it comes from.
I’m currently studying Literature at university and in the future I’d like to study Cultural Anthropology, a discipline about discovering different cultures, customs and traditions.
I consider myself an open-minded person, a bit shy but dynamic and cheerful. I really enjoy spending time outdoor, hiking and skiing, looking for nice views, freeing my mind with yoga, playing the guitar, reading books, and practicing the art of calligraphy!
In between my studies I’d like to travel and escape the daily routine every now and then, that’s why I’ve joined Workaway. I think that this is a unique opportunity to exchange stories and experiences, meet new people, learn new languages, and for personal growth. Also, I’m trying to challenge myself and live according to a “carpe diem” philosophy, meaning to make the most of present opportunities.

Quais são suas habilidades?
I’ve worked for two summer seasons at the tourist office of my hometown; this experience gave me the chance to meet people coming from different countries on a daily basis, to practice my English and to learn to work in tourism, promoting the territory and organising activities.
On some weekends I helped at a mountain lodge with housekeeping and waitressing tasks.
I have some experience with kids, gained through Workaway and before that with a project about organizing creative activities for kids in an art gallery and with some babysitting.
I volunteered with an agricultural cooperative, where I learnt some basis about gardening. And with Workaway I helped at a farm, where I made some experience about animal care and different maintenance works.
I really like animals and I’d love to help with them.
I’m always attracted when it comes to creativity, so I’d like to be involved in diy and creative projects.
If someone’s interested, I can teach Italian.
