In September 2022 I embarked on an adventure—to travel, write about my travels, and visit friends in Europe to help them with their ongoing projects. I started in stunning Norway, and knew even before I left there, that I would have to come back. I went on to see a friend in Spain, who introduced me to WWOOFing (World Wide Organization for Organic Farming), and that was yet again another experience I wanted to repeat. And I have—in England. I also joined Workaway, and broadened my experience in Ireland, and again in Norway, and England. I have enjoyed each location for its unique beauty, diversity of projects, and getting to know and work with great people and animals!

Quais são suas habilidades?

I have renovated a number of homes and gardens in the past, so my skill set covers a lot of bases, from general maintenance and repair, such as dry rot, termite and water ingress solutions, house painting, fencing and gates, carpentry, basic plumbing and electrical (US), to starting and growing gardens and veg, laying bricks and patios. Add to that my WWOOFing and Workaway experience with caring for animals, cooking, along with whatever needed doing. I’m happy to discuss your particular needs, and how I might be able to help you. I do love to cook, (and wash up!), and have cooked for everyone I have been to. Along with that, I am organized, on-time, and have been lugging a 23 kg/ 50 lb Mamma of a suitcase around with me, so no trouble lifting.

I have always made art of one kind or another, and tend to bring creativity to everything I do. When I set off traveling in 2022, I had to have a portable art practice—(that would not be the printing press I once had!). Clearly, have pen, will travel—so I am currently writing a series of poems about my travels. Being a writer, I am also a reader—mostly poetry. I balance out my life by working physically hard everyday, or going for a hike or a bike ride. Anything outdoors is great—whatever the weather! I come with waterproofs, gloves and Wellington boots👍🏼

  I have no special requirements, but I do cook vegetarian or vegan, and have converted a few people with my enchiladas!
