Hello! 😊 My name is Sara, I am 25 years old and I come from Italy.
Here I am on Workaway, looking for new people to meet for enriching conversations and willing to learn how to develop my practical side. I am also really looking forward to speaking German with many different people.
I am a sunny an extraverted person, a humourous individual (I like to have fun and smiles). I am also very curious and like to listen to other people’s experiences and stories, which makes me a caring person to be around and good at reading the room. On top of that, I am rather meditative type too, and I’m realising how useful it can be to do something practical with your hands to get out of your head.

I would say that my guiding principles are human connection and sustainability at different levels (e.g. environmental, human). Moreover, as a trained interpreter and translator, intercultural communication always plays a paramount role in my life.
I like to spend my free time outdoors, hiking, cycling or simply laying on the grass – I come from a small city in Northwestern Italy surrounded by mountains. Moreover, I like animals and I have three cats back home in Italy whom I love to cuddle as much as I can. My hobbies include singing (on my own and with other people, I occasionally sang in choirs), playing the guitar, taking pictures and occasionally editing videos.

I have been travelling since I was a child. First with my parents, then doing cultural and linguistic exchanges in high school and as a volunteer member of the European Youth Parliament, a non-profit association for young people willing to engage in intercultural dialogue on EU matters. During my erasmus at University, I spent 5 months in the beautiful Regensburg and 6 months in the busy and bustling Brussels. I am a very adaptable and flexible individual, and I am not easily scared by habits and customs different than mine, but rather inspired by them 😉.

I am travelling to Germany with the goal of improving my German, have enriching exchanges with new people, and help you out with whatever project you are working on! I will bring with me sweaters, jokes and Italian food of course. See you soon!

Quais são suas habilidades?

Although I do not have much practical experience in manual work, I have a well developed aesthetic sense and I am a very fast learner. During my experience, I would like to learn how to do some practical chores (e.g. small renovation projects, small maintenance).
I am used to doing all daily housechores (cooking, cleaning, laundry) in a rapid and efficient way. I like animals and know how to take care of cats and dogs, and I would be happy to learn how to tend for farm animals too.
As a former AuPair and summer camp animator, I am good at taking care of children, playing and spending time with them.

Basically, I have been more of a head-brains person up until this moment of my life, but now I would love to have the opportunity to use my hands and practical sense!

I like to spend my time in nature, especially hiking or cycling, listening to music and singing (while cooking, tidying up, cleaning), I played the violin when I was a child and I am now slowly shifting towards the guitar, an instrument I like to play along with other people.
I love playing volleyball in good company, even though I might still need to work on my skills here.
Last, I am a board game (especially party game) lover: just ask me to bring my Taboo set and I will answer immediately!
