We're Sara and Diego from Italy.
In these special years of our lives, we are travelling Asia and Australia in hunt for authentic life experiences to drag inspiration from. We don't like tourist-tailored places and we would like to stay away from mass-tourism destinations.
We share the vision of a sustainable way of travelling, in close contact with locals and in the repect of natural resources for the benefit of the local communities that live out of them. We believe in a way of travelling that does not harm or pollute, but in contrast is essential for the development of a country and for the protection of its wildlife and environement.

We will travel Malaysia in the few next months and we’re very keen to get involved in every opportunity that allows us to help in a new project, in restoring an old one or simply to give our contribution to people’s lives or everyday activities. We would love to share experiences such as: promoting and developing new environmental, farming, eco-tourism or conservation projects; but also living like a local, cooking traditional dishes, teaching and learning some new languages, get involved in traditional festivals preparations, or simply help in houses or infrastructures building or maintenance,
We hope we will be able to take home with us not just beautiful pictures, but meaningful and inspirational experiences.

Quais são suas habilidades?

DIEGO: I'm a very chill and quite person, but at the same time friends tell about me that I'm very good in organizing parties and get people involved to make them feel at ease and willing to share good time together. I have to admit that I'm really proud of this because I love to see people around me happy. I would love to use my organizational skills and my “party abilities” 😊 in a future job or to help out people in promoting their projects and activities.
My passions are cooking Italian food, cycling, trekking and snorkeling. I love growing vegetables and farming: in Italy I had a big garden and I used to spend there most of my free time in summer. I would like to learn new farming techniques, and I am very interested in the emerging aspect of permaculture as well as traditional ways of working the soil.
During my time here in Australia and previously in Italy I've worked most of the time in the construction and in the maintenance field, therefore I am pretty good at any type of manual work, even if I'd love to develop other skills too.

SARA: I am very passionate about wildlife and everything regarding environment protection and conservation. I’ve just completed my studies in animal care and welfare and I would like to start putting in practice what I’ve learned during my studies and especially through my internship in South Africa based on an eco-tourism and conservation project in a small community based reserve. During my recent trips I’ve fallen in love with photography, and I’m constantly looking for opportunities to practice with my camera. I still don't know how, but I would like to be able to show through the camera the impact that humans and mass tourism have on the environment and on the traditional way of living of communities, with the ultimate goal of pushing people to help protecting and restoring ecosystems, living in balance with natural resources.
In Australia I've been working first as a dog groomer and then for 7 months as a veterinary assistant in a chicken farm. Together with the preparedness provided by my studies, I feel confident in the aspect of animal care and health in different contexts.

We dream about creating our own project which is able to conjugate the passion for animal and nature, with the aspect of travelling and photography, why not, also through the use of social media or articles writing.

DIEGO: I was born in the Italian Alps, therefore I grew up with a deep love and respect for nature: I hate when this gets mistreated and exploited. In my hometown I am used to walk a lot of hours to see amazing sunrises and sunsets, sleep in uncomfortable bivouac to admire wild animals up close and climb long "vie ferrate" even up to 12 hours. I feel grateful when the fatigue is rewarded by a stunning landscape or when a simple meal is enjoyed on the peak of a mountain.

SARA: I love cooking (and eating too) Italian food of course, but I am trying to learn Asian recipes, which really fascinate me, and I can’t wait to improve my abilities during my future trips. I like to spend my time in nature, especially hiking or swimming and I would love to r try new sports and outdoor activities.

We both don’t like tourist-tailored destinations, and we would prefer to stay away from very crowded places. We enjoy meaningful conversations but we also like to simply chill in front of a beer watching the sunset on the beach while singing, dancing or listening to some good music.
