Hello! My name is Ronan, I'm 23 and I’m looking to escape the UK for a change in culture, warmer weather and most importantly delicious food. I have travelled to many countries in and outside of Europe and believe the best way to truly experience a new country is to work so I can connect with the locals to get an honest feeling of day to day life.

I have a Turkish mother and British father so growing up has always been a learning experience of two ways of life which has shaped me into an adult that is resilient, understanding and inquisitive. I am very family oriented, having grown up in a house of 5 siblings, my parents and grandparents. Yes, it was chaotic most of the time, with generational demands that don’t please everyone. I would do anything to return to this beautiful way of life and indeed want to create this for myself in the future.

I would like to learn new skills relating to outdoors activities, working on a farm, teaching English, cooking or working towards an objective I feel strongly about. I would only expect my host to be friendly, sociable and happy to talk with me (recommending good places to eat).

Quais são suas habilidades?

I am passionate about trying to make a positive impact in the lives of others, both professionally and in my personal life. I am eager to continue learning and to work compassionately with people to make a real difference and to make a meaningful contribution to helping others. My life experiences have encouraged me to maintain a deep sense of empathy and a desire to help as listening to a person and offering a different viewpoint may encourage an alternative pathway.

I started working from a young age to be able to buy things I wanted, and I now work to provide myself with new experiences as this is what I value most. I have worked in hospitality, site maintenance, cleaning and corporate office roles. All the jobs I have worked at have been very different, but all have one thing in common, customers. I love to speak to people, to listen, to learn, to help and to try to work together to create a plan to move forward. I have become more open in expressing how I feel and therefore created stronger connections with my friends, family, colleagues and acquaintances.

I learn best practically, in a supportive environment where each member of the team has something unique to offer, so every day something new can be learnt. I am an effective communicator, diligent in seeing every task to the end, especially the small ones as this often makes the more complex objectives easier to manage. I pay great attention to detail and can think under pressure. I am friendly and approachable and I feel confident to ask for help if I am unsure about what to do as I will gain a different perspective.

If I had not made it clear earlier, food is a part of my day that I really enjoy, whether that's eating at a restaurant I visit far too much, trying something I didn't think I would enjoy and loving it or cooking for my family. It has connected me to so many different cultures and is something I find difficult not to talk about. I would like to work in an environment where this passion is strong so we can learn from each other.

Generally, if I'm not working you will find me by the sea, soaking up the sun. I love all sea related activities like surfing, sailing and collecting unique shells. I love to cycle and explore towns, seaside villages and speak to locals in their language. I am sensitive in nature and value even the smallest of interactions so I hope there is something out there for me!
