Hello, we are Rob and Ingrid.

For two years we have been travelling, mostly together, but we give eachother space to do our own thing as well and have different experiences.

We both love camping anhd being in nature, especially being close to the sea. We are new here on workaway but we already have done some house and pet sitting. We really love being around animals and taking care of them. Pet sitting was a perfect way to combine travelling and still enjoy the company of animals.

We are mindfull people, enjoying the simple things in life. Like having a walk, enjoying a good cup of coffee, reading a book and having a good conversation.

I (Ingrid), am in my fifties, and have two adult daughters. Most of my working life I was a teacher, specialised in children with learning difficulties. But I also worked with adults suffering braindamage, together searching for solutions experiencing difficulties in their new life. I like to read, cook, dance and sing. But mostly I’m interested in other people. The way someone thinks and feels, is for me inspiring and a constant flow of learning about myself. Before I started travelling, I lived for five years in a pilot project that involved living in a tiny house and doing volunteer work with people with a mental handicap, we shared a terrain, where we were neigbours . At the moment I would like to stay longer at a place and experience the local life, because longterm we would like to settle somewhere in Europe. I speak Dutch, English, German, and some French.

As for me (Rob),

A big part of my life I have been working at sea as a merchant officer, I have also worked as a teacher of maths and physics in high school for a couple of years. I love being on the ocean, being in contact with nature. Since I was a child I loved going camping with my parents and wondered if it would be possible to live like this not only during holidays, but as a way of life. So now I like to go camping, whenever I find the chance. When I worked at sea I had lot’s of free time when I was home. I am a person who has a broad interest in many area’s, I rarely get bored. I love reading, and have collected many books over the years: I especially love literature and philosophy.
I like going out for a walk or taking my bike for a ride in nature. I recently learned to kite surf and hoping to do more of that in the future. I’m not a ‘kiter’, it’s not my lifestyle, but just a way to connect with the water and one of many things I enjoy in life.
The last years I have done some inner work and discovered a whole new world,and got more interested in spirituality. Hoping to one day find a place to settle, in nature with the company of some animals, living the simple and quiet life, until then I love to travel around, discovering new places, meet new interesting people and different ways of life.

Our main interest at this moment is looking for house and pet stay. We are resonsible people and will take good care of your house , garden and the animals. It’s not nothing to have a stranger in your house , we are aware of that so we really appreciate your trust.
