Hi! My name is Risako.
I'm from Japan and am a university student studying Agricultural engineering. This year, I'm on a leave of absence from university to travel around the world through volunteering.I started this journey because I want to broaden my horizon by meeting a lot of people and experiencing volunteer works.
I stayed European countries for about 3 months (May-August, 2024). I experienced Workaway of gardening and taking care of dogs in the UK and volunteer works in Slovakia and Switzerland. (Preservation of old castle and pastures for cows)
Then, I joined volunteer works in Kenya and Nepal.(works include construction of a house, farming, picking up garbage and so on)
Those works were mainly physical work. So I have confidence in my energy and love being physically active💪
Now, I’m in Mexico to join another volunteer work!
I will finish my journey in December. Now, I’m looking for next volunteer work in America, Canada or Mexico (from around November 9th) and wonderful connection with you!!

I experienced different type of agriculture (rice, tomato, livestock etc.) in Japan, and it’s my dream to have own my small farm and live a self-sufficient life in the future🌱

I love learning new things, meeting new people, crafts, farming and animals!!!

Quais são suas habilidades?

I like to learn new things, so I will work hard at any kind of works.

From a young age, I helped my parents cook, clean the house and do chores. Now that I have living alone for three years, I like doing them.

I have experiences working as a waitress at a fancy restaurant and busy hamburger shop, so I have no problem dealing with customers, cleaning, washing dishes.
I have also experienced the part time job of walking big dogs for 2 years, so I can friendly interact with dogs!!
I'm good at teaching dogs new tricks. I have an 8 years old dog in my parents’ house. She could perform about 10 types of tricks!!

I’m a undergraduate student of Kobe university majoring agricultural engineering（precision agriculture), and I visited and help farmers in various places in Japan. So, I can tell you current Japanese agriculture.

My first language is Japanese, so if you are interested in, I would be more than willing to help you learn the language🇯🇵
