Hello! I am Peter, 21 years old and from Scotland. I am coming to the end of studying towards an Honors degree in history from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow and I am looking to experience the world through Workaway opportunities. Meeting new people, sharing perspectives and challenging myself are three key motivations for me in wanting to experience working abroad. I love working together with different people as I take great interest and excitement in creating relationships with people who have had different life experiences than myself as learning from others helps me improve myself as a person. Challenging myself by working in a new environment opens myself up to learn more about myself and the world which is something that makes me happy as I value new experiences and challenges highly. Living in a small town in Scotland where everyone knows each other has taught me to value relationships with those around me and I have always found myself at my best when I am socializing and creating bonds with people through being positive and open-minded towards the world. In my spare time I have a love of sport and staying active, exploring the beautiful nature that Scotland has to offer has made me appreciate the world and gave me a strong motivation to explore what other places in the world have to offer. Through my studying of History , I have developed a strong interest in arts and people as I believe that through history and the arts can we truly understand our place in the world and what makes us all unique as humans. I am new to workaway but I have experience solo-travelling with amazing trips to Scandinavia and Eastern Europe, staying in hostels meeting new people from all over the world and sharing journeys with them being some of my fondest memories- an experience I continue to do. To be able to share my positivity for life and perspective with others is a goal I hold close to my heart, to be able to look back at my life and say I have seen much of what the world has to offer and that I have helped others in their lives is what I strive for.

Quais são suas habilidades?

Alongside my University education, I have spent 5 years working in McDonalds starting as a crew member before being promoted to crew trainer where I had responsibility for training and managing new members to the team. In balancing working while studying I have shown good organizational skills and an ability to prioritize between competing demands. The work environment of McDonalds is busy and fast paced and requires you to be able to work closely as part of a team as well as using your initiative to problem solve when issues arise particularly around customer service. I have a strong work ethic which is reflected in my balance across education and paid employment. I know the importance of being reliable and good time keeping all of which have been key to me maintaining my current employment. I am amicable, sociable and easy to get along with who enjoys working with others as part of a team. Through playing for football teams and doing a variety of different sports in my spare time such as swimming and Brazilian Ju-Jitsu I have found myself always willing to learn new skills in different settings whether it is a part of a team in football or an individual sport such as Ju-Jitsu. Being the captain of my football team in Scotland I have showcased good leadership skills and the ability to motivate others to try their best and work together well. I have a keen interest in cooking and can cook a variety of good meals for myself and others- my homemade pesto pasta is a specialty! I am keen to apply my many skills in different environments and would relish the opportunity to apply these in a new context while continuing to learn new skills. I love to keep busy and put in a good effort towards goals. In summary, I am keen, enthusiastic, reliable and sociable a proven quick learner who will give one hundred percent to whatever context I find myself in.

I am an active person, I enjoy going to the gym and participating in sports or any physical exercise such as football, swimming, running and walking. Overall, I am always willing to participate in any activity, I find enjoyment through doing different things in life and thrive in trying new activities and working with others.
