Hello!
We are Rachele (28, Italian) and Paul-Antoine (29, French), an international couple setting off for their next adventure, for the first time together!!

We met two years ago in Thailand and we have been walking the world together for a little longer than one year by now. Back then we were both solo travelling, PA visited most of South East Asia for a year, while Rachele was southern, living in Australia.

Starting from January, we will begin our journey as digital nomads, choosing to travel slowly and consciously. For us, Workaway is not only a way to make our journey more sustainable economically, but above all a way to give something back to the places that welcome us. Having spent a considerable amount of time in SE Asia, we had the chance of witnessing what mass tourism is like and its consequences. Volunteering for us is the way to switch from privileged tourists to conscious travellers.
We believe in meaningful exchanges, cultural learning and shared daily life. We love the idea of becoming part of a place, even for a short time, contributing with our time, skills and energy.

We both have strong volunteering experience in different international contexts. We are used to adapting easily, learning quickly and working with people from different cultures. Rachele volunteer for long time, making it the leitmotiv of her 2022, when backpacking around Europe: Turkey, Denmark, Slovenia, Netherlands; mostly in housekeeping, general maintenance, gardening, guests reception and childcare. PA volunteer in a coffee farm in Vietnam, and taught English to children in Indonesia and Thailand.
Not to mention our scout background which has deeply shaped who we are: responsibility, teamwork, respect for people and spaces, and the ability to live and work simply, even in basic conditions.

We work very well together: we are organized, cooperative and respectful. We are really proud of our communication skills, we are always trying to learn, to change our mind, to listen, to grow. To embrace compassion and love. Probably this process has been favored by the effort we put on self care and each others care and by the spiritual practices we never stop exploring. For instance we try to practice yoga and meditation every day, and when we can't, it's probably because we're reading a book about it :)

We are both very sporty and active, and we love spending time outdoors and in nature.
In our free time we enjoy (but let's also say this is the whole point of travelling on our side) exploring new places, spending simple moments with the people we meet, learning from local cultures.
We are open-minded, curious and respectful people.

Though provided with a good level of english we speak a funny mix of our languages:
Italian: native (Rac), beginner (PA)
French: native (Paul-Antoine), beginner (Rac)
English: good conversational and working level
A basic knowledge and usage of German (PA) and Spanish (Rac).
We are always happy to improve our language skills and learn new ones.

We are available starting from late January, ideally for medium- to long-term stays, and we are flexible regarding tasks.
We are open to different types of projects: families, eco-projects, farms, hostels and social initiatives.

Unfortunately, since we live in a world driven by money (sigh), we need to prioritise our jobs. Right now we're in the process of starting our careers as freelancer, which will take a considerate amount of energy of ours. In order to do that, having a reliable WiFi connection is a must. Also, you can count on us as we'll committ to work the amount of hours we agree on, but the timing might change even last minute due to work related duties.

We truly believe in the spirit of exchange and always commit ourselves fully to the experience.
