I am an ecologist from the USA on sabbatical from my career in renewable energy project management. After 11 years in the science and engineering field, and my dog, Gracie passing away, I decided to take a step back from work to connect with other cultures and gain hands-on experience in other environments.
As an adult with roommates and eldest daughter, I am a hard worker and expert at managing all duties of a household (cook, clean, home maintenance, pet care), while balancing a full time career and organizing community events.

If it's outdoors, I've likely tried it! I love connecting with nature through physical challenge or mindful art and ecological study. I am an outgoing and sociable person who enjoys teamwork and collaborative projects.

My favorite art activities includes plein air watercolor painting and bird or underwater photography. My favorite outdoors sports are freediving, rock climbing, scuba diving, rucking/trekking/backpacking, camping, biking, paddleboarding, water skiing, snow skiing, and surfing.

I am a curious person who loves the mental challenge and self-discovery that new projects and talking with new people bring. I read every day with my favorite genre as nonfiction followed by historical fiction.

Quais são suas habilidades?

Everything is figure-out able! I am resourceful, adaptable, and thrive in collaborative environments, but highly experienced in navigating surprise challenges from executing field work in remote areas while alone.

Through household management, my main career, my hobbies, and the family business, I am experienced in:
• Home projects: Cooking, cleaning, plumbing, painting
• Animal care: grew up with horses, chickens, dogs, and cats. I am familiar with high-needs dog care due to my fur-baby's arthritis and cancer.
• Gardening: (within Florida's hot and humid climate) I volunteered at a few farms, had a culinary garden project for my botany class, I was also a land manager for silviculture, pastureland, and conservation land.
• Teaching (ages 6 months to 50+ years): I taught swimming in University with the youngest at 6 months old; my oldest students were from the University soils course I taught as a graduate student which included outdoors studies.
• English: native USA speaker
• Outdoors sports: (see list in description above, I can complete minor bike maintenance and emergency road repairs; other non-favorite sports include motor boating, fishing [spear and line], and some sailing)
• Science: I would love to expand my science communication skills
• Project management

I am a curious cat who loves connecting with others and building community. I don't drink alcohol, smoke, or eat meat (exception is fish). As a sociable person, I am comfortable sharing meals with others if they are consuming these items.
