Hello! My name is Natalia and I am an artist and entrepreneur born and raised in Mexico City, Mexico and have now lived in Seattle, USA, for the past five years. I consider myself a kind, warm, sociable and inviting person that easily adapts to her surroundings!
I just graduated university at UW Seattle in Fine Arts and Business Admin/Entrepreneurship, and am looking for my next world adventure! I have always been a traveler at heart, and grew up taking many road trips with my family around Mexico and beyond. During my university days I did not travel much outside my usual places (also due to Covid), which is why I want to give Workaway a go, and go to Asia, where I have never been before! I have experience bringing myself out of my comfort zone and although it doesn’t get less daunting, I keep wanting to do it! I love animals, nature, and believe in bringing awareness to social issues like sustainability/climate crisis, gender disparity, and other issues through art and activism.
I love to meet new people and am always a friendly face to approach, so I’m excited to meet people in this volunteer opportunity!

Quais são suas habilidades?

As for skills, I have started two small businesses (one my art, one apparel business with other teammates), from which I have learned a lot about putting yourself out there, sales, customer satisfaction, outreach, etc. I also have experience running social media platforms, for which I learned to video-edit and how to create engaging content. I also love art and design, and have designed multiple brand logos, and other things like menus, websites, presentations, created murals, etc so I’d love to help out with anything that you might need!
If you are not much interested in the above and I’m applying to a more outdoor opportunity, please also know that I am also a great lover & appreciator of nature! Since I grew up in a big city, it has taught me to appreciate all the outdoor time I get, and would love to spend more time outside and reconstruct/help our planet in any way I can. Although I don’t have much experience gardening or handiwork, I am a fast learner and am not afraid to get my hands dirty. I have a determined mind, so I am always up for a challenge!

I looove board games, specially on a nice summer night (or not nice winter night too), any competitive card game or board game with a nice group of people.
I have also been getting into dancing a lot, and although I mostly thrive dancing alone, I have been wanting to learn more partner work (salsa, bachata, etc). I’d love to learn any local dances as well! I like many kinds of music such as rock, indie, alternative, techno/electronic, salsa, cumbias, reggaeton, afrobeats, etc!
Other than art (which I mostly oil paint, draw, do digital art, sketchbooking, etc), I’ve been wanting to do more photography. I also love fashion, specially jewelry and decorating myself now and then! As for sports, I played Volleyball in high school but I can’t say I was good… I do enjoy the gym now, but haven’t been able to go recently due to traveling. I have my scuba diving license as well, but I haven’t updated it in the last 6 months so it’s expired :,(
Pretty much I’m down for anything as I love to learn new things!
