Descrição

Hello! We are Calla (age 27) and Graham (age 30). We have been together for 9 years, and currently live and work on a wildlife sanctuary in Wisconsin, USA, where we restore ecosystems to create and enrich habitats. We love our work here, but we are eager to explore more of our amazing planet. We are both very passionate about our natural world, and love immersing ourselves in it. We also care deeply about community, and hearing stories from all perspectives.

We are both hard workers with varied skillsets, and we work very well together--finding comedy amidst adversity is one of our strong suits. We are excited to experience life in new climates among unfamiliar surroundings, and to learn from the various people we meet; often the greatest teachers are those you would least expect. (Graham is also particularly excited to catch lizards, his favorite pastime throughout our travels.)

Farm and Garden - horticulture, seed collection and processing, raising chickens, landscaping, tractor and UTV experience, plant identification, plant propagation, pruning , animal care

Arts - drawing, painting, comics, sewing, basketry, beading, felting, knitting, singing, banjolele, guitar, trombone

Childcare and education - fulltime nannying (from age 1-12), leading school fieldtrips (elementary, middle/high school, university), giving environmental presentations (all ages), afterschool outdoors program (middle school)

Ecosystem Restoration - grasslands, wetlands, savannas, woodlands

Wildlife Research - coordinated or assisted with frog and toad call surveys, Monarch butterfly tagging, bird point count surveys, bird banding, telemetry, etc.

Minor construction - have built several raised beds, tiny camper trailer, 3.5m x 7m greenhouse, etc.

Miscellaneous - chainsaw use and maintenance, prescribed fire, grant writing, building partnerships, managing staff or volunteers, canoeing/kayaking, fishing
